Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Murano SUV as good as the glass - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Magalhaes - August 18 - 4:16 amMurano, the glass, is made in an small island off Venice. Unique, beautiful and high valued, it is a perfect name for Nissans classy urban SUV. After 2 years of owner ship, I have no complaints whatsoever. It put to good use the 3 letters: Sport - accelarates, handles an brakes like a sports car; Utility - plenty of room for an average family of 4; Vehicle - in the sense that it does not look like or handles like a truck. But its style is not for all: it does demand a higher degree of design appreciation than most folks have...

Way to Go, Nissan! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By 2mikes - August 15 - 10:00 amWe have about 2000 miles on our Murano and absolutely love it! It turns a lot of heads, but its beauty is more than skin deep. The engine is quiet and powerful, the transmission is great and the gas mileage isnt bad for an AWD vehicle this size. (Gets 24 mpg on highway as advertised)Test drove the Toyota Highlander, but this vehicle outscores the Toyota in every category.

Drove a BMW 3, bought the Nissan - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Pam - August 10 - 10:16 pmBMW wouldnt take my trade, a lovely, shiny, well kept 2 wheel drive Ford with only 48K miles. They didnt have a good selection on the lot either. Looked at Nissan web site then searched dealer inventory and they had exactly what I wanted. Cabernet leather is lovely! Drove it up Emigration CAnyon and it performed much better than the BMW and I saved thousands.

Itll Make You Smile! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By ckone - August 10 - 10:00 amIve had a big smile on my face since I bought this SUV! You will too! Nissan has an excellent product. One of the best vehicles Ive ever driven. Drives and rides very smooth for an SUV..the best of all I test drove. Very fun! Be ready to get lots of compliments and gazes! EPA fuel economy is accurate after a few tanks if you use premium gas and dont be forceful.

Very Impressive - 2003 Nissan Murano
By SDMURANO - August 10 - 10:00 amWe traded our 2002 Altima V-6 for the Murano (black) and havent regretted it since. This SUV lives up to its billing. Gas mileage is good considering all the other SUV mpgs but not up to specs. It has power as well. The transmission is awesome (so smooth!!!)I am still exploring all the gadgets. (We purchased everything we could for this car: Leather pkg, sunroof, cargo cover and mat, etc...) rear seats recline (cool)then fold flat for cargo space.

Nice Looking, Lots of Problems - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Mikecnj - July 28 - 2:00 amNice looking car but has lots of issues. Had to replace altenator at 6,000 miles (a common problem). After getting locked-out numerous times, dealer replaced door harness. Open sunroof makes unbearble interior noise. Currently heat is not adequate and bringing it back to dealer. Goto NissanMurano.org for more info./complaints.

Loved it until the fifth year - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Lori - July 27 - 3:40 pmI loved this car until the fifth year. The driver side seat broke and muffler system, and now steering column. It is starting to cost money but it still looks brand new.
