  • Quality not there - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

Bought Murano after many GMs. Like looks and performance, at 34000 miles rear brakes, completely worn out, metal to metal, too small for vehicle. Gas filler neck very rusty, very early, poor galvanization. In 4th year,at 40000 miles, chrome on Grill peeled and muffler broke off (rusted off) at inlet pipe. $400. just for muffler, from dealer. Poor quality on Grill chrome and muffler. Bought wife used Toyota RAV4, absolutely no problems. Phoned Nissan about quality problems, they said out of warranty, too bad. I believe some of these problems are due to Cleveland winters, but other cars dont have these problems.

  • Happy with my Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano

I live on a very long and curvy road that I travel twice a day. This is a very fun ride through those curves. It is also nice to not feel so top heavy when taking corners. No tipping over worries here.

  • This is NOT a winter vehicle! - 2005 Nissan Murano

I live in Ottawa, Canada and it can get to -40C here. On one such day (the second day I had it - brand new) the Murano would not start for me. It took about 6 tries over the course of ten minutes. On the seventh try it just started up normally. The dealership didnt know what caused it and couldnt do anything for me unless it was a recurring problem. Another thing, the wiper blades can not be lifted off of the windshield for those freezing rain days. For some reason the hood gets in the way! And another thing, the windsheild spray nozzles are under the hood which can get blocked by snow and ice and can be impossible to clear away. Besides that, I love it. Summer should be great

  • "Sport Utility?" w/o roof rack? Cant be - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

Totally love the car, but when I found out that Nissan will not sell or install the roof rack (side rails and cross bars) for Muranos that didnt come with one, I was disappointed because I ski and would like to put my Yakima ski carrier on top of the car. No Go!! So how can Nissan call it an SUV if you cant even use it as one?? I dont understand why Nissan didnt engineer for an after market roof rack...OEM or otherwise. If your car didnt come from the factory with a roof rack you are out of luck, because not even Yakima or Thule make an aftermarket rack system. The manufacturer leaves the consumer out in the cold. The rack is available, just for those already with one

  • Great in the snow - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

I bought the Murano last year because I had a 45 minute commute to and from work and I wanted something that was going to handle the snow. This car is Amazing in the snow. I did however get into an accident and it took Nissan over 2 months to get me a back passenger door. Also the alternator had to be replaced in the car which the dealership said was a common problem the the Muranos. The blind spots are HORRIBLE. You have to really turn your head to make sure no one is in the other lane. Another down fall is you have to also put in premium gas and if you do not you can really tell the difference. The car will not ride as smooth. I wish this was a 7 passenger vehicle.

  • I LOVE MY MURANO! - 2005 Nissan Murano

As a previous Chevrolet Suburban owner (for about eleven years) this Nissan took me by surprise. I cant ride in smaller vehicles without feeling carsick and unsafe. When I started to think about down-sizing, I drove all sorts of styles and models. And I came across a Murano, drove it and loved it! But I wasnt sure I could drive a smaller vehicle ALL the time. I kept my sub. for a little longer, but kept looking at other vehicle, always going back to the Murano. Then I found one that had ALL of the options of an SL, but was an S. I traded in my sub. for it, had a panic attack 9 days later, and got over that about 3 days later. I made the right choice! I absolutely LOVE MY MURANO!!!

  • Room for a 6 footer - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

The room in this vehicle is amazing. My 6 ft son has more than enough room in the rear seat even when the front seat is full back. The back seat also reclines for even more comfort. The upgraded seating is comfortable for long trips. My wife no longer has to "fall" into a vehicle or "crawl" out of it, a real bonus for arthritic folks. Wide footprint, excellent handling. Didnt think I would buy anything other than traditional american vehicle until I drove this!

  • I wouldnt let my enemies drive a Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano

I dont work for any competitor of Nissan. I did own a Infinity that was a great car. The Nissan Murano is the worst vehicle in terms of reliability I have owned ever (I have owned quite a few). Over 17k in repairs over 9 years (3 to 4 times what I would spend on either the infinity or Hondas I have owned - yes, I adjusted for inflation). Do not buy a Murano or you will be very sorry.

  • Excellent - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

This car is as good as it looks. There is more space inside than you can imagine and is very comfortable. It gives you a sense of comfort when you drive. I love the navigation system. But make sure you dont get the black one because it gets dirty very quickly. Fuel consumption is very good. I have no complaints about the car. But the dealerships should have more options available. Some of the options, I truly did not need but had to get it because it came with the other options I needed. Enjoy your car and love it!!!

  • Nisson IS #1 - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

This vehicle is WONDERFUL. The new transmission with no shifting makes it "fly" down the road. I traded my Nisson Quest (which I loved dearly) for better fuel economy. The interrior is not much smaller. The drivers seat sits high giving you plenty of view to see a couple cars ahead of you.
