This Year's Model Updates:

SE models now include a manual-shift mode for the CVT, and satellite radio pre-wiring is standard on all models. The standard driver seat now features 10-way power adjustment.

Pros:
  • Excellent handling, comfortable and practical interior, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat, gets pricey with options.

Smooth, comfortable and stylish - whats not to like! So far, no build quality issues (like rattles, etc.). Gas mileage is a bit less than advertised - about 18.5 mpg overall in 6 months.

What caught my eye was its exterior appearance. I was sold when I got into it and test drove it. Ive had it for almost 1 year and I love it. We also own a 2002 Cadillac Deville DHS which we love. The Murano although much higher is almost an equal to our Caddy on the highway. Road handling is great, the acceleration is wonderful, its comfortable, it has very good cargo space. Its easy to get in & out, has great features.

  • Who would have thought - 2004 Nissan Murano

Me and my wife, both like the Murano and thought it was the "Smart" decision based on what was out there. But it turned out to me more than just a "Smart" decision. After we bought the car, I thought I would hate driving it day in day out, but on the Contrary, "Who would have thought" !!

Extremely comfortable, good performance, unique looks, lots of creature comforts, decent gas mileage (20 MPG average)... what more could you want?

  • Buyer beware of Nissan warranty - 2004 Nissan Murano

We purchased a new 2004 Nissan Murano "All Wheel Drive" and in four (4) months, noticed a small 1/4-inch rust spot on the roof. We took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased only to wait over a month for them to schedule an appointment with the Nissan representative. The Nissan representative failed to show up for the appointment and stated the paint on their vehicles could not possibly contain a flaw causing rust. Nissan denied the warranty without the courtesy of looking at the rust. The Nissan warranty customer service was impersonal and denied to even inspect the rust spot. Beware of Nissans false warranty.

I love the way it handles but I have been dissapointed in the gas milage, the back seat belts get in the way when you lower the seat. I also had the alternator go out at 18000. Seems to be a common problem. I hope the resale is good.

  • Murano - very high marks - 2004 Nissan Murano

Just bought it, really like everything about it. Better alternative than a big SUV or a 4runner or Pathfinder. Especially for very tall people...this Murano fits very well and is very comfortable. Cannot find anything wrong with it at all - except when you take your foot off the pedal on level ground it gives a braking effect that you can definitely feel (this is with the AWD off and the traction on). Would recommend this Murano highly.

  • Great Cross-over vehicle - 2004 Nissan Murano

32K miles without a single problem. Very comfortable for front and back seat passengers, sure-footed and fun to drive. Well-built (no squeaks or rattles), quality fit and finish.

  • Perfect - 2004 Nissan Murano

    * First of all I got a great deal on it. * This is one of the best vehicle Ive ever driven and it just takes regular gas unlike the Infiniti FX 35. Infiniti bundles a little bit of luxury into it, which I really dont or may not need. * Exterior styling, Interior comfort and its fun to drive. * Best buy for the buck.

  • I love the Murano - 2004 Nissan Murano

The AWD Murano performs well in ice and snow conditions. The unique transmission takes some getting used to but is a joy to drive once you have mastered it. The exterior styling makes people notice you.
