Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Love this vehicle. The dual transmission did fantastic in the Rocky Moutains...very little braking required. Fun, fun, fun. Lots of compliments on this vehicle. Only complaint is that the mirrors and wide windshield frame create blind spots....mirrors need to be lower to avoid huge void.

I have owned my 05 SL 2WD since it arrived off the boat October 2005. It currently has 132,000 miles. I have NEVER kept a vehicle over 75,000 miles before. I drive 65 miles R/T 4-5 days a week through the Arizona desert and farmlands at 45-70 MPH, mostly using cruise control. In the summer I average 21.5 mpg or around 420 mpt. In the fall-spring without A/C I average 23.6 or 475 mpt. The most was a confirmed 525 mpt one winter. My local dealership has done all recall work as well as routine maintenance. All in all, it has been a great family ride and has never left us stranded. Unlike many Ford or Chryslers I have owned. Sure it has its known problems and this one is no different.

Acceleration is smooth & effortless. It accelerates & revs with the amount of pressure you put on the pedal with no annoying shifts. Interior is very spacious and comfortable. The leather seats are buttery smooth, soft and cushy, yet enough firmness to prevent fatigue. The rear bottom seat cushions travel forward & back with the reclining of the seats for increased back passenger comfort. The look...impressive! When it drives down the road, it looks like art in motion. Ride & handling are smooth & quiet while also being precise & accurate. Fuel economy, first tank, 20.1mpg (Canadian) 16.7mpg(US Gallon)city.

My new nissan murano is more than expected! I chose this new vehilce over the lexus rx300 and the mercedes ml320. It is truly in the luxury class. The salesperson was so adamant about test driving it and once I drove it, everything he said about it was absolutely correct. Nissan has out done themselves with the Murano!

I bought this car before I went off to college. I am 64 265 and play D-1 football. This car fit me and 3 D-1 players in the back seat with ease. Great head and leg room. You can tilt the backseats back to make it very roomy. Drove it to Miami and Notre Dame from NJ. Gas is hurting me. I drive super slow and get about 17/19. AWD with Automatic. Interior is great. All kinds of different compartments between the seats make it like a mini office desk. Plenty of room on the dash board which is rare. Room in the hatch for an extra person. Driver seat bolt broke one time and I got it repaired. Biggest knock is the gas for me. Such a smooth and pleasant ride. Best midsized SUV out there!

I must say that I am truly satisfied with my Murano. The comfort that comes with this vehicle is simple amazing. Nissan has outdone themselves with this baby; no joke, foreal! I traded in my 2001 Prelude Type SH, my favorite car of all-time, but for some reason, I havent looked back. I would recommend this truck big-time!

I have had this vehicle for over three weeks and I still cant wait to drive it everyday! I was a little sckeptical of the tv ads, but once I saw it in person and test drove it I was hooked. The Murano has plenty of power and a smooth drive with plenty of head and leg room.

Fully loaded SE Murano. We wanted an SUV that was sized right for our needs. Easy exit-entry, great performance and handling plus good gas mileage. This car exceeds in all of the above with features that would be found in cars costing three to five thousand dollars more. It is very well engineered, fit and finish are excellent. Having owned a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee, there was no way we would buy another after driving this car.

Drove Acura MDX, Honda Pilot, RX300 Lexus, Highlander, and Volvo. For the feature set and the price this vehicle cannot be beat. It sits at par with the Honda and the Acura, shames the Highlander, and comes mighty close to the Volvo. Now, compared to the Honda and MDX I chose the SL Murano AWD because of its newer styling, at par performance, and better interior (less conservative than the Hondas but not crazy-out-there). Compared to the Highlander and the RX300 Lexus, there is no comparing. The Volvo is nice but pricing starts at 40K unless you can live on the vanilla base model...

  • Keeps getting better - 2009 Nissan Murano

This is my third Murano. The 2009 is the best yet. Much better on all levels of quality and the ride and transmission finally match the price tag. The only downside is the mileage in the city. Very quiet ride, great stereo, seats are very comfortable.
