This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

  • Horrible cloth seats - 2003 Nissan Murano

The cloth seats are the worst ever. They inflict pain and discomfort. Leather package should be available by itself, not forced on top of two other packages.

  • Buy this car! - 2003 Nissan Murano

The Murano is the best combination of attractive design, comfort, utiltarian design, handling, and economy of any vehicle I have ever owned or driven.

  • Greatest Crossover Value for Under 35K - 2003 Nissan Murano

After searching hi and lo for a replacement for the Mazda Tribute, and after lookind at RX300, Acura MDX, Honda Pilot, and Toyota Highlander, the natural choice was the Missan Murano in the SL trim with AWD, the Premium Package, the Leather Package, Sunroof, and the Cold Package. This loaded configuaration was cheaper than the loaded MDX, almost as good a buy as the Honda Pilot, and overall a much better ride than all the aforementioned. The quality of the Nissan build was there and the style of the Murano will take you easily into the next 4 years. Dollar for dollar, look for look, performance for performance, there is no better crossover SUV.

  • I Love This SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

I got a fully loaded Murano about a month ago and have no real complaints. The fuel economy is not great, but what can anyone expect from an SUV. The styling is fabulous. The acceleration is fantastic--I just love the CVT. The interior is very comfortable and the ride very smooth. I dont really use the navigation system that often, but when I need it, it really comes in handy. If all you have seen is the pictures and like the look but wonder if the rest of the vehicle matches up--dont worry. It does--and then some.

  • Home Run for Nissan - 2003 Nissan Murano

Excellent vehicle ! We had our first child last year and wanted something with stlye, room, fuel economy, and AWD. We didnt want to spend over $40,000 to do it (or get a mini van). We spent far less than that and couldnt be happier on all points.

  • I love the new Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

I took the Murano for a test drive and was so impressed by it that i went and got my wife to drive it. My wife didnt want another car yet because she like her car so well, but after she drove the Murano it was all she talked about. We got the car and we both have been so pleased with it that everybody that drives it wants one. Bob R.

  • Impressive and fun to drive - 2003 Nissan Murano

My wife and I analyzed cars with a similar features for 6 months. Test drove many (Volvo, BMW, Acura). We repeatedly returned to the Nissan dealer to have another look at the Murano. Eventually we decided it was the best choice for the money and that the others were not worth the extra 8K. And, we really enjoy the car. The Bordeau exterior is a real eye catcher.

  • Best of both worlds - 2003 Nissan Murano

Half Sports Car Half suv, best of both worlds. Love the aggressive body style and the 18 inch wheels. Utility.

  • The super engined SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano
    By -

The best engine on the market. The CVT is smooth and responsive. Holds the road surprising well for a SUV. Not had it long enough to properly evaluate reliability, but it seems fine. Beautiful exterior styling, with 18" wheels. Love it or hate it interior styling (I love it). Good quality materials used in seats, dash, etc. All in all an excellent used car buy.

  • God I Love The Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

I now have owned this vehicle about 6 weeks now and I think its great. Ive always been a Nissan fan and once again they provide another reason to be one. It looks and handles like nothing Ive ever driven. I actually cant believe I own an SUV but this is so different...My only concern is with the SE model. I notice some rattles at times that make me concerned for the long term. SE ride is a little too harsh.
