Overview & Reviews
For 2005, the Murano receives a rollover sensor for the side curtain airbags, and a new S model with fewer features and a lower price. New options packages and an Intelligent Key entry and ignition system are newly available.
- Sharp handling, strong standard engine, comfortable and practical interior.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat.

Murano - proof positive the Japs can make crap too. - 2005 Nissan Murano
By glastonbury - June 30 - 2:27 amI dont even know where to begin with my Murano, from the fuel dampeners, to the seals, to the intake manifold, to the throttle control plate. WTF, a dirty throttle control plate in a Murano will leave you dead and stranded. NEVER NEVER NEVER would a honda have these problems. CONSUMER REPORTS I am convinced has been rigged and bribed for recommending the MURANO, the biggest repair headache of all time.

Two Thumbs Up - 2005 Nissan Murano
By DougIn FL - June 8 - 1:46 pmPress cons include power-robbing CVT-- ---which is inconsistent with 0-60/8.0 sec, and 25mpg figures. The seamless CVT provides precise speed control. The SE is harsher riding than desirable---wish I had opted for the SL model, but an exceptionally satisfying drivers car. (My other vehicle is an 04 E500 Benz.)

We love it! - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Frank & Jessie - May 9 - 2:10 pmBought the car primarily for my wife. She is small, 5 feet, and always had to sit too close to the steering wheel to reach the pedals. This one has the adjustable pedals, and it is the first car she is completely happy with in all respects. Went for all the options, nav system, etc. Would highly recommend!

Not bad! - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Dan - April 23 - 1:43 pmI bought the best package because it was available slightly used (only 6500k miles. I owned a Ford Escape prior, so this is pure luxury for me. The comfort level is high, the leather is soft, and after having a hip replacement Ive been able to drive easily and get in and out comfortably. The intelligent key is great! The Murano is sturdy and a great road trip vehicle. My passengers love it. I also love it for the not so necessary things, like the Bose system and the large sunroof. The only thing I dont love about it so far is the fact that the rear view is less "open" compared to the Escape, but Ive gotten used to it. I feel the need to turn all the way around when making a turn.

The best in its price range.... - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Kee - April 22 - 6:43 amHas sharp handling and cornering like a sports sedan... Strong engine... Good gas mileage for its size... Huge leg room in rear... Thing I dont like about this car is CVT which eats up Horse Power and Torque....

The surprise cute-ute - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Dan - April 8 - 11:53 amI started searching for a small SUV to replace my wifes old 03 Outback. I had narrowed my choices down between the rav4 & crv. After finding that the rav4 equipped the way we wanted wasnt a good deal, I was sure the crv would be the car. We happened to checkout the new rogue, but we werent impressed with it. My wife however, liked the Murano. After realizing it was MUCH bigger than it looks, we took one for a spin, and liked the overall feel. We went to look at the crv, and did not like it, so we went back and got a murano. MPG is good IMO for a V6 SUV. Weve had the car for over 2 weeks now, and consistently avg about 20-21 mpg with mostly "city" (stop lights) driving. Great car!

My Murrano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Mya - April 5 - 10:00 amMy husband and I researched multiple different SUVs as well as test drove all competiters in the same size and price range as the Murrano. I as well as my husband felt as far as comfort, ease of handling, safety, price, and just overall options offerd on this model, as well as fuel economy non of the competiters could compare to the Murrano. I felt very safe in it during the winter driving, it was able to go places most others couldnt. I have to say I would diffenitly recomend this vechile to anyone and I would buy it again if I had to do it all over.

Very Satisfied Customer - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Jenn - April 4 - 7:43 amAfter totaling my GMC Envoy and breaking my leg. I began my search for a new SUV, (I would never purchase another American made SUV) I wanted an SUV that was reliable, safe, and comfortable. I found all that in the Murano. In fact i was so impressed with this vehicle that my monther also purchased one for herself. I have never had any problems with the car in the 8 months that i have owned it, and I have never felt more safe in an SUV than i do in this one. I feel that Nissian has their act together. I am one VERY SATISIFIED CUSTOMER! I am now looking foward to purchasing the Nissian Titan to tow my horse trailer. Nissian is an increidible company that I stand by.
