Overview & Reviews
Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.
- Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
- No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

Safe in the Lap of Luxury - 2003 Nissan Murano
By To The Moon - August 13 - 2:00 amPurchased a Murano SE 2 weeks ago and Edmunds.com helped so much in our research...thank you! First made a list of what we needed, the plushness of the Murano was a plus. Graduating from a van we test drove (that I recall) Pilot, CRV, Rav, and Pathfinder and inspected many others. Focused on the Pilot then we drove the Murano and fell in love with fully loaded SE (didnt want DVD or GIS). Pricing (asked to see dealers invoice), mpg, safety & smooth/solid ride of this dream contributed to our purchase decision. Its smooth rounded exterior is a pleasure to run a shammy over, no crevices for grit to settle in.

This SUV is One-Hot-Rod! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By sydsma - August 7 - 10:00 amThis car is a blast! I wasnt really seriously looking for a car when I stopped into my local dealer, just browsing.... The salesman suggested I take if for a spin. THAT WAS IT! It was like no other vehicle I have driven. I knew it was as good as sold if I could just get my husband to take it for a test drive. He did, and was sold!!!!

Comfort + - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Dagmar - July 27 - 10:00 amThe "cross-over" height is just right. I have arthritis and it is so easy for me to slide in and out of the driver seat. I took it on a 7 hour trip after I purchased it. I was comfortable all the way. This is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It is a smooth, quiet ride. (I only have 1700 miles on it) The size is not much larger than the Honda LX sedan I drove which was too low to the ground for me. It parks easily in the garage; it turns easily. All in all I rate it excellent even though I just bought it! Ramy at Power Nissan in Laguna Niguel gives great service!

Radio problems - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Frostop - July 21 - 2:00 amWhile I am pleased in general with my Murano, I have had a miserable time with the FM reception on the Bose stereo system. The problems are sporadic -- reception at times is excellent. However, when the signal goes, it goes with a blast of static that frightens everyone in the car, and then the signal is lost for the rest of the day. Im looking for a solution to this problem. Nissan hasnt been overly helpful. Also, the Murano sensors have required service, and the interior aluminum trim dents rather easily.
