Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

i really like my Murano. i have had some bugs that had to be taken care of. Backing up I had a loud sqeal my odometer had to be replacedbefore 1000 miles . i also had a rattle underneath that turned out to be my emergency brake cable had to much play in it. otherwise i love my car. Ive had alot of complements and looks from everyone while driving it.

Steering is almost as good as my 2002 TBird. Fun to drive. Great tow vehicle for my 3500 lb. boat and trailer. Love the CVT on hills with speed control on. No annoying downshifts. I test drove the FX-35 and liked the Murano better, and got all the same features for $10K less. Whats not to like about this car and it really turns heads.

I dont normally write reviews, but after driving many CUVs including the new Ford Edge, i bought an 03 Murano. It has been a great pleasure to drive, is classy, comfortable and smart on the inside without being snotty, holds cargo roads like a truck but drives like a car (good clearance and AWD for mountain roads, but its no 4Runner). I cant comment on reliability yet, but it had 70k when I got it and was/is running great. if youre looking for a CUV type vehicle, at the very least you should test drive one of these - and dont worry, the initially weird CVT goes unnoticed after getting used to it.

Inspite of Nissans need to take marketing lessons from Kia, I purchased this Murano for its uniqueness of styling in the market. Quality and features seems fantastic to this point. Room GALORE! 5 people in total comfort. No complaints to date. Only frustration was lack of info from Nissan. I had no idea what colors/features were available...and dealers were getting shipments! Brochures not yet out. Thank God for Edmunds!

I have not been this excited about a vehicle since I first saw the 1986 1/2 Toyota Supra. This is the perfect blend of SUV and Sudan. It has a unique look which is rare now a days. The ride in the city and on the highway is fun and non-labor intensive. The engine and transmission are a powerful combination, yet they remain smooth and refined. This vehicle will make a SUV lover out of non-believers.

  • Murano: Power, style and so much fun! - 2003 Nissan Murano

The Murano is so much fun to drive. The CVT really allows the car to fly up hills. Mine is loaded and am having fun figuring out all the bells and whistles.I especially like the positive feedback from other drivers. The design is so unique. Not like every other little boxy SUV. Nissan certainly has a winner with the Murano.

  • Reliable SUV, most bang for the buck! - 2003 Nissan Murano

I bought the murano because it is on car frames instead of truck, has fulltime AWD with good gas milage and buttery smooth CVT transmission just like the one used in AUDI A4! Driving a roadster before, I am surprise that MURANO can match the vehicle dynamic of a my BMW Z3! Murano has been very reliable (for 2 yrs). Could not justify myself buying RX330 for $10K more. Nissan VQ engine has been proven reliable, do not hesitate. Murano is a vehicle for the most bang for your hard earn money!

Excellent design - exterior and interior. Just the right size. Perfect for urban parking and utility needs. Sound system with sub-woofer is excellent. Ergonomics all around are very good. Everybody loves the car.

Great alternative to a traditional SUV. Gives you the car like ride with all the features and benefits of a SUV. Nice gas mileage for a 245hp vehicle. I have seen people mistake my Murano for a Porsche Cayenne. Kind of cool to see heads turn around town.
