Pros:
  • Responsive powertrain, sporty handling and smooth ride, luxurious cabin in LE trim.
Cons:
  • Cargo space behind second row a few cubes shy of some rivals, compromised rear visibility.

  • Great new, but not wearing well - 2009 Nissan Murano

Bought this car new in Fall 08. I was a fan of the Nissan line, and this car seemed a good value. Yet, fit and finish and wear has been a source of pain and expense. I would not recommend, wished Id bought something different (and paid more), and wont be buying any more Nissans in the future.

I just got my Murano a few days ago, the car is extremely great!! Modern looks, luxury interior, great mileage for an SUV. I compared the Infiniti EX35, FX45, Lexus RX350 and Murano, after all my research, test drives, etc. I ended up getting the Nissan Murano, sporty look, great tech features, great mileage. So far totally in love with the car. Thanks.

This vehicle has far better grade interior materials than its competitors. Historical and reliable V6 NISSAN engine. EPA HY 27 plus on a trip to Atlanta 400miles on a tank with left over gas. Great modern styling v boxy outdated competition. Smooth ride.

Have always had full size pick ups. Traded in my 07 Tundra for the Murano. Love the comfort, power and handling. Gas mileage a little disappointing so far (only about 18mph). Poor visibility. Very smooth accelaration. Was unwilling to pay for unwanted features just to get leather so had put in after (better quality then factory anyway). Very happy so far.

I love this vehicle. This is my third Nissan; however, my previous car was a Volkswagen and I didnt realize how much I missed Nissan until I drove the Murano. The 09 interior is a vast upgrade over previous models. So long as you dont mind the lack of a third row seat (which I dont) then this is quite possibly the best "CUV"/SUV on the market for the price. It is a perfect blend of power, comfort and style. The front-end styling is much more appealing than in previous versions.

Just picked up my 2009 Murano. I had a 2005 and loved it. But theres no comparison between the 2 cars. The styling on the 2009 is much better as is the interior. Theres more pop in this one, the ride is quiet and smooth. Mine has the tech, nav, prem, leather and moonroof options. I test drove other cars but came back to the Murano. If youre looking for a mid-size suv that rides like a car youll love the Murano. If you like listening to music youll love the Bose system. Do yourself a favor and test drive this SUV.

I purchased my 2nd Murano in November of 08. Traded my 03 Muranowith 95,000 miles. I am not disappointed with new vehicle. Many improvements over previous model. Navagation system awesome, radio great with recording feature. Ride very good but noisy with moon roof open. I miss the memory seat that Nissan decided to remove from the "09--had it in the 03. Dont understand that decision? Overall, very satisfied, would highly recommend. I can fit 4 sets of golf clubs across the back of trunk. Try that in any other SUV out there, including Lexus RX, Lincoln MKX, Ford Edge--no way! I tried it already. Doesnt sound like a deal breaker, unless you are a golfer!

  • Good car - 2009 Nissan Murano

purchased used with 31k miles, as soon as I took it home, made noise from rear. Dealer says it needs a new rear differential. Covered under warranty, but my question is, why so soon? This is a major repair. Other than that vehicle is solid, the gas is not bad for a 2+ ton CUV and the cvt definitely takes away from the performance on this vehicle. Nissan service should be questioned, they told me the part would be in one day, now its delayed for at least 2 weeks. driving an 10 altima is fine, but i would like my murano back to keep driving it

  • Best yet - 2009 Nissan Murano

We loved our old Murano and missed it in the recent snows we have had and the room it afforded to take dogs and gear. So we purchased a new one and couldnt be more pleased. The car like handling is even better and so are all the options. The Murano is just plain fun to drive. You almost forget it is an SUV. And the gas mileage is not bad. There is plenty of spunk too delivered through a smooth CVT that is also an improvement. The spunk though comes at a price - premium fuel. We looked at Toyota, Honda, etc. but are delighted with the Murano.

All the luxury items make this a great crossover. Ride is very smooth as youd expect from a luxury sedan, and steering is soft - no feel of the road while you float along. Plenty of power at your disposal when you need it. However, when you are going slow (under 30) with minimum gas pedal pressure, you can feel the CVT seeking the best gear ratio. Car is very roomy front and back for when you have 5 adults to carry.
