Overview & Reviews
For 2005, the Murano receives a rollover sensor for the side curtain airbags, and a new S model with fewer features and a lower price. New options packages and an Intelligent Key entry and ignition system are newly available.
- Sharp handling, strong standard engine, comfortable and practical interior.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat.

Best SUV ever owned for Value - 2005 Nissan Murano
By FredMurano - December 23 - 9:36 pmI have owned Acura, Lexus, Ford, and Infiniti cars and SUVs for the last 15 years and the Murano SL AWD has been the best price value of all of them. The Ford Escape was pitiful in terms of comfort and performance. The Murano was at the other end of the scale -- best value, comfort, performance and value. I wish I had purchased instead of leased it because it is still in perfort condition after 3 years. Had two bumper replacements which were very affordable (only $600 each) compared to fixing other cars. Am considering buying this SUV again.

Love My Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Linda Campbell - December 16 - 12:36 amAlthough my Murano is a 2004, there doesnt seem to be too many technical, mechanical or cosmetic changes between the 2004-2005. I have never been so excited and thrilled with a vehicle before. I love the style, comfort and beauty of this car, not to mention the sporty features of a SUV. It rides like a luxury car and performs like a skatt rocket truck. What more could a 62 yr old Florida grandmother ask for?

Best car I have owned - 2005 Nissan Murano
By alan - December 12 - 9:53 amOwned a 3 year old Chevy Trailblazer plagued by poor quality and workmanship. We originally purchased a new Murano for my wife and liked it so much i traded my Trailblazer in for one 4 months after we purchased the first. In short the best car I have ever purchased. The Murano had more standard features and better performance than cars costing $15000 more. Never had a problem with either Murano, economical, good performance, handles great in the rough New England winter. I will buy another when we buy a new car.

Best car yet - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Mr P - December 10 - 6:43 pmIve had my Murano for 18 months and about 25k miles. Absolutely no problems, its flawless! Before this I owned an Accura TL and was hesitant to make the change but I wanted AWD and the room of an SUV. This car is a pleasure to drive, easy to get in and out of and all the features one would want. The transmission is exceptionally smooth and the AWD is great in the snow and seamless when it kicks in. GREAT!!!

Noisy Vehicle - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Pete Zappulla - November 29 - 2:20 pmIve owned this vehicle since february of 2004, and have experienced a very noisy interior. I believe this noise is emulating from the tires. The dealership in sarasota refuses to accept the fact that there is a problem with this noise. I believe the tire size makes this car too tight in the corner as it sits too high, with heavy body lean. Nissan tried to get into two categories of vehicles by having a station wagon and suv merge. This car isnt a good towing vehicle nor is it comfortable for me to drive. My only saving grace is that my wife drives this as a daily driver. I hope to have some sort of satisfaction with dealer this weekend with tires.

More filling, looks great. - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Rick L - November 26 - 1:16 pmHave owned other suvs but the murano has them beat. Really like the exterior and interior design. Handles great and rides well for an suv, although takes the bumps a little hard.Cvt takes some getting use to. Overall happy with car, but gas mileage is terrible, getting 13.3 mpg in city and 13.5 on highway. Car has only 3,500 miles, hopefully I will get a lot closer to listed mileage on sticker when broken in.

Love My SUV - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Bill - November 18 - 9:43 amBefore I purchased my Murano, I was at the Lexus dealership about to purchase a Lexus GS 330 (my dream car). I decided on the Murano because the Lexus had no utility value. The Lexus RX 330 was a nice alternative however its styling was a bit girlish for me. The Murano provided me everthing I wanted (and more) in a car with the added utility value of a small truck. The Murano rides, handles and is more comfortable the many cars that I have owned in the past. The Bose sound system is execellent. The cabin is spacious and gobbles up whatever you put into it. I would not trade my Murano for anything else.

Mikes Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By PTA Mike - November 4 - 5:43 pmFashionistic! Great style and performance. Got stability control/traction control, adjustable pedals. Great Bose stereo, 6 air bags, 18" tires/wheels. Rides great, excellent handling/performance. Smooth CVT (transmission). High intensity headlights, leather/sunroof. A real joy to drive. Excellent visability - removed rear headrests. Intelligent key (no key to unlock or start engine! Easy to drop rear seats, from the rear. Can lock the car with a button on rear hatch. Great eye appeal, with the technology to match.
