Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

The car has been a real pleasure in every aspect but one. The actual gas mileage is way below the epa estimate. According to Nissans web site in January, if you got the Dynamic Control Package, your gas mileage estimate would be 23 city and 28 highway. The best weve managed is 18 city and 22 hwy. Gas mileage aside, the car is comfortble, roomy and a joy to drive.

if the fuel economy was as good as advertised, this car would be as close to perfect as ive seen. i drive a new rental car every week and by weeks end, I am looking forward to driving my Murano. It is fast, smooth, & feels quite luxious on the inside. not to mention its good looks. my only complaint is the fuel ecomony. it advertises 20 to 24 MPG. I never expected to get 24, however, i was hoping it would be closer to 20. my results are closer to 17.

  • Fun car - 2003 Nissan Murano

This is my first new car in over a decade. I drove a Toyota Camry for the last 10 years so I was leery about moving from a very satisfying ownership experience. However, the unique and refreshing styling caught my eye. The test drive caught my heart and mind. This car is fun and safe to drive. It has numerous creature comforts including the Bose sound system (feel the base) and the informative screen of data. My children find the back seat comfortable. I have found the sight lines challenging and the driver must be careful about other cars in the blind spot. Otherwise, I love my new car and look forward to 10 years of driving my Murano.

Oh my god.... i am so glad nissan came out with such a great car the interior looks are ten billion times more attractive then the honda pilot and the toyota highlander, the drive is awesome drives just like the bmw x5 which i test drove before i both the murano, and best of all it comes with 18 inch wheels which makes it look better instead of those small overused 16 inch wheels.

  • MURANO IS A TOP CHOICE AMONG SUVS - 2003 Nissan Murano

I HAVE OWNED MY MURANO FOR FIVE MONTHS NOW, AND IM VERY PLEASED WITH THE OVER- ALL PERFORMANCE OF THIS VEHICLE. ITS FUN TO DRIVE AND GREAT TO LOOK AT BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. I WISH THE ENGINE COULD BE MORE QUITE ON UPHILL WHEN ACCELERATING. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED OCCASSIONALLY A SLIGHT RATTLING NOISE FROM DRIVER-SIDE DOOR PANEL AND ABOVE THE GLOVE BOX AT HIGH SPEED IF THE ROAD A LITTLE BUMPY . WILL BRING BACK TO DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. DESPITE THESE MINOR ISSUES, ITS A SUV DESERVES HIGH MARKS.

  • Great Car! - 2009 Nissan Murano

Our 09 Murano LE is the best car I have owned to date. Only complaint and a big one is the noise from the moon roof. The air deflector is very noisy. It appears to be a built in design flaw. Hard to believe that it was not discovered when the car was designed. Unless the problem is fixed, dont spend the money for a moon roof or, at least, dont pay for it!

  • waited for years, now I have the one I wanted - 2016 Nissan Murano

The ride is great, it has all that a luxury SUV should have. The only thing I found was a blind spot, if I didnt have the tech warnings, it would be dangerous. The only other frustration is the blue tooth connectivity is inconsistent so hands free driving is difficult.

  • Just Awesome - 2009 Nissan Murano

Purchased the Nissan Murano after looking at lots of other Crossovers. Almost got the SL with the 360 package, but am so happy I got the LE. I previously drove a 99 Nissan Altima and never had a problem with it, so another Nissan was a big draw for me. The only issue I had was with the XMradio. Some wiring issue prevented XM from showing up. It took the dealer a while to figure it out. Works like a charm now.
