The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

This Vehicle Rocks! - 2004 Nissan Murano
By James Alexander - May 6 - 10:00 amI have to say for being a part of the Nissan family for a long time. I finaly stepped up to the plate and bought the best. Black on beige it has been an eye stopper, road grabber, and the most fun in driving I have had in years. The back seats flip down at a stroke and it becomes my mulit purpose car of the century. Yipi is all I can say!!!!!

Very Nice upgrade. - 2009 Nissan Murano
By royrose - May 6 - 2:33 amWe traded our 03 Murano SL for an 09 LE. Only the LE has the memory seats which were part of the leather package on the old SL. The new Murano has a much more luxurious feeling interior with some nice new features such as dual moonroof, power liftgate, backup camera, intelikey and bluetooth with voice dialing. The suspension and CVT seem improved a little. Minor gripes are that the outside temp display has been switched from the center display to the drivers instrument panel and the drivers seat cushion is not independently tiltable. This is the first time that my wife and I have bought the same model vehicle again, so clearly we are happy with the Murano and like the new one even better.

Great car, but OHHH the gas mileage - 2003 Nissan Murano
By paulkfromcalifornia - April 25 - 10:00 amthe Murano is a fun car, no doubt, from the extremely comfotable seats, Nav system, Bose audio, and flawless transmission...however, two problems: 1) the paint work is bad. maybe its just mine, but i notice a big problem with small flaking 2) the gas mileage is horrible. the sticker promises 20 /24...i have yet to average over 20 MPG, even on a 150 mile drive on a flat highway with the cruise set at 70. i average less than 15 around town, and 18, if i am lucky, on the highway. This seems to be a reoccuring theme among Murano owners, but I doubt Nissan is willing to admit to it...I know that my dealer isnt!

By love the Murano - April 23 - 11:20 amThis is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. I previously drove a Nissan Altima so when in the market for a new vehicle, Nissan was the clear choice. I test drove many others but this one was the smoothest ride and definitely the best looker. It still turns my head!

My first SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano
By myMurano - April 22 - 2:00 amThis is my first SUV purchase and Im glad I went with the Murano.. I test drove other SUV but nothing caught my eyes like the Murano did. Everyone is asking me what kind of SUV it is that it must be very expensive until I tell them how much I paid for it. Its definitely fun to drive and so much ROOM! My newborn baby will have plenty of space in the back =). The remote pull down chair for the back is really great!

Extremely bad mileage car! - 2012 Nissan Murano
By ozhukhov - April 20 - 12:21 pmDont have a hope that the car will give you 18-23 mpg city/highway! In fact, it may be way below fine printed 14-20 mpg. I was unlucky to by Nissan Murano S AWD 2012 in July 2012. The car makes only 11-13 miles per gallon even if I drive very smoothly. It is bad in city and bad on highway. Checked with the service in the dealership - they found nothing wrong with the car. Third time the service director took the car on the series of test drives and measured the mileage himself. Not looking at the cluster display but actually running the car, measuring miles, topping the fuel and calculating the mileage. The numbers went out the same: 11-13 mpg. Nissan doesnt want to take the car back!

By dlbdaltx - April 19 - 7:13 pmNissans done a great job with the Murano. I am very impressed and pleased with the great handling and ride. I looked at the Honda CRV and Lincoln MKX before the Murano. The Muranos ride and quality interior was far superior to either.

Best value for ride, safety and comfort - 2006 Nissan Murano

If your looking for comfort, style, passenger safety, and performance with decent fuel ecomony, look no further... the Murano will not dissapoint you. The Murano is everything you expect from an SUV, with the ride, feel and appointments found in luxury sedans. This vehicle replaced a Subaru and afforded the size and upscale amenities sadly lacking on the Subaru.

Great in the snow - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Donna - April 13 - 7:16 pmI bought the Murano last year because I had a 45 minute commute to and from work and I wanted something that was going to handle the snow. This car is Amazing in the snow. I did however get into an accident and it took Nissan over 2 months to get me a back passenger door. Also the alternator had to be replaced in the car which the dealership said was a common problem the the Muranos. The blind spots are HORRIBLE. You have to really turn your head to make sure no one is in the other lane. Another down fall is you have to also put in premium gas and if you do not you can really tell the difference. The car will not ride as smooth. I wish this was a 7 passenger vehicle.

By MomwithKids - April 11 - 10:00 amThis is my 4th Nissan & the Murano is by far my favorite. Very spacious interior, luxury car features, very smooth car-like ride, CVT makes ride even better, awesome exterior design. I definitely would recommend!!
