Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

The 07 Nissan Nurano is the perfect SUV. It is very versatile, comfortable, stylish and fun to drive. It has everything that I need and like in a vehicle. I traded an Acura TL for this. I loved the Acura and thought why am I trading for the Murano. Now I know why. I look forward to buying my next Murano, it will be interesting to see how it changes in the coming years.

This is an excellent car. I first considered Highlander or a Pilot. But after taking a test drive on Murano, I couldnt even think of test driving others. I am very happy with the Murano! It rocks and its absolutely fabulous to drive.

Ok, I bought a 2003 Nissan Murano at the beginning of last summer. 12000 miles later I still love my car. I am a bit rough on it and drive it like a sports car. This car really can move, you can take turns up to 40mph without your wheels skidding out, but watch out, the oil pan is a little weak as I broke it. Also, beware of gas mileage I only get 15.5 mpg. Granted that number is low because of my driving habits, but even when I drive nicely I can only get 16.5-17 in the city.

Just picked up my 2005 Murano the other day. I enjoy it! I have wanted one since they first came out in 2003. Very stylish, easy to drive, and comfortable. Only thing missing is a heated steering wheel (had one in my 2002 Maxima and just loved it) so now I will have to buy a pair of gloves for our Ohio winters. My husband and kids enjoy driving it also...I think there might be a fight to be the driver!

All the luxury items make this a great crossover. Ride is very smooth as youd expect from a luxury sedan, and steering is soft - no feel of the road while you float along. Plenty of power at your disposal when you need it. However, when you are going slow (under 30) with minimum gas pedal pressure, you can feel the CVT seeking the best gear ratio. Car is very roomy front and back for when you have 5 adults to carry.

when we test drove this vehicle we knew it had to be designed by a realtor. It is the perfect vehicle for sales people plenty of storage and space for lap top or my wife can lock her purse in the console. It has all the features that we had with our Caddy but none of the problems. this vehicle is surprisingly responsive and the transmission is something to get use to since you cannot feel a shift. have received nothing but positive comments from friends and others.

  • Comfortable, sporty and fun to drive. - 2004 Nissan Murano

The CVT gives silky-smooth acceleration and offers plenty of passing power. Lots of interior passenger/cargo space. Very comfortable seating. A great family car for road trips (touring package w/ DVD player). Even with all this room, it drives more like a sports car than a truck. (Certainly compared to the Ford Expedition I traded in). Faster and a better ride than Highlander, 4Runner and Pilot (I test drove all). Much better value than the MDX, RX330, FX35 (all run ~$6,500 higher drive- out price). If you have kids, consider adding running boards/side bars (aftermarket $250-350). The rear seat step-in, while not bad for adults, is a little high for kids.

We just got the Murano SL couldnt be happier. The ride is great, the seats are extremely comfortable and the controls are very accessible. We live in New England so unfortunately we havent been able try out the sunroof, but the AWD works awesome. The iPod hookup could be a little more accessible, USB should come standard, but it certainly doesnt make or break the deal. The mileage could be better but what are the chances the dealer filled it with the good stuff.....NOT. This vehicle is fantastik, Great buy!!!

  • Best Car For The Money - 2009 Nissan Murano

I recently purchased my second Murano. My first one was a 2004. I really enjoyed owning the 2004, but, when I drove the 2009 it was a whole new diving experience. The 2009 has more stability at higher speeds. The engine and the transmission work well together. The ride is much smoother. The sound system sounds much better with the added speakers. Also the instrument panel is less cluttered and easier to work with. The 2009 Murano is the type of car that makes you take the long way home.

  • Great Car - 2005 Nissan Murano

Purchased the 2005 Murano after driving a 2002 Tahoe for three years. Car performs great. Fun to drive, great power. Only one problem since purchase date...engine sensor...was repaired with no further problems. Gas mileage is close to 20 in town and 25 hwy. Service dept is great.
