This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

  • in love with my murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

I have only had my Murano for 10 days, but it is one of the best cars I have had. Comfort is important for me because I have had 4 back surgeries, and I find it very comfortable. I love the exterior styling, and the responsiveness of this vehicle. It is luxurious, attractive and functional, and has a bit of the old "muscle car" attitude. If it were a dance, it would be a Tango, smooth, sexy, powerful.

  • A Great Drive - 2003 Nissan Murano

Unlike most SUVs Ive driven, the Murano is fun to drive. It has much better acceleration than I anticipated and is very smooth. The exterior has turned quite a few heads in my small city and the interior, though not luxorious, more than meets my needs.

I read these reviews before buying this car and I have to say I was even more impressed after driving it. I have owned it since March 2003 and I love this car. Owned a 2000 Pathfinder prior and this Murano puts it to shame. The ride is smooth, fast and I love that CVT and the space in the back seat. I was debating between the Highlander and the Honda SUV but all the other SUVs are boring - this car is definitely COOL! Thanks Nissan

  • This is the coolest vehicle ever! - 2003 Nissan Murano

This is the coolest vehicle ever! We love it! It is so easy to get in and out of and the ride is so smooth. When you need the extra acceleration its there! Would recomend this vehicle over any other SUV in its class.

  • Fun to Own and Drive - 2003 Nissan Murano

This vehicle attracts a lot of admirers where ever I take it. It a fun vehicle to drive although uneven pavement can make the ride bouncy. On a recent trip I averaged 20.1 miles/gallon, which is less than I expected. (I have driven Maximas for the past 12 years - I hope the Murano is as reliable as the Maximas were.)I seriously considered a Honda Pilot, but, to me, the Murano has more comfortable seats, more legroom for rear passengers, and a much zipper engine. When sitting side by side, the Murano sure outclassed the Pilot. The Pilot is rather bland all around.

  • Wonderful in ice ans snow. - 2003 Nissan Murano

Wonderful design. Love the CVT. It handles on ice as if it were sandpaper- -true grip! I still get stopped after 10 months by admrers who want a "tour".

  • WOW, Its the Best - 2003 Nissan Murano

This car/SUV is beautiful, comfortable to the very MAX, rides high like an SUV, gets mileage like a compact car, (Im getting 28 MPG) Bose speakers are just over the top. I highly recommend it to everyone. It makes me feel like a million bucks. Get lots of looks and inquiries.

  • LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. - 2003 Nissan Murano

THE ONLY THING I WOULD ADD IS A HANDLE ABOVE THE WINDOW ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I GOT SPOILED ON PREVIOUS SUV HOLDLING ONTO THE HANDLE. ROOFRACK NEEDS TO BE AVAILABLE AS AN ADD ON LATER. BODY SIDE MOULDING WOULD BE A PLUS. THIS SUV IS DEFINITELY A HEAD TURNER. I HAVE HAD A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, TOYOTA HIGHLANDER AND NISSIAN HAS PASSED THEM BOTH ON INTERIOR, QUIETNESS AND STYLE.

  • Murano - Takes over Highlanders Position - 2003 Nissan Murano

Comparison of the Toyota Highlander Limited vs. Nissan Murano SL with Premium and Leather Package. Muranos benefits: Styling and ride, CVT transmission is awesome, 245 HP vs 220, 18 inch vs 16 inch wheels, Xenon headlights with adjustment switch, Dual climate control for driver and passenger, as well as backseat vents, Bose sound system was superior to the JBL, Memory settings with adjustable seats, mirrors, and pedals for Driver 1 and 2 (great for weekend driver vs. daily driver use), Autodimming mirror, compass, and Homelink vs. Homelink only
