This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

Very nice. Runs like a champ and makes us feel like were traveling through space. Handles well in the city. A true gem in the hodge-podge world of SUVs. Wife really likes it.

This is not a typically SUV.

The "cross-over" height is just right. I have arthritis and it is so easy for me to slide in and out of the driver seat. I took it on a 7 hour trip after I purchased it. I was comfortable all the way. This is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It is a smooth, quiet ride. (I only have 1700 miles on it) The size is not much larger than the Honda LX sedan I drove which was too low to the ground for me. It parks easily in the garage; it turns easily. All in all I rate it excellent even though I just bought it! Ramy at Power Nissan in Laguna Niguel gives great service!

This automobile is my all time favorite! Ive had many autos ranging from cars, vans, and SUV of all makes and models. My two favorites are my 94 Nissan Maxima and now my 2003 Nissan Murano. Nissan seems to build the cars around me...for me...

This is a fun, powerful, agile AWD vehicle. It has the power to get you where youre going in a hurry, as evidenced by my two speeding tickets, (the only in several years). But its so fun to drive that you wont want the drive to be over! Excellent ride, with sportscar-like handling, but AWD performance to get me back and forth to work in a snowy rural area. This is the perfect vehicle!

  • still in love with my murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

I bought the Murano about seven months ago. Since that time I have put 12500 miles on it with absolutely no issues. Have loved everything about the car. Not only does it smoke most other vehicles on the road, you hardly hear the engine do it. Still fight with the wife to drive on long distance trips. Higly recommended.

Ive had 38 new vehicles in my 35 years of marriage. Had most SUV out there. After having my Murano 3 years now, which is a long time for me to have the same car, Im going to buy another shortly...Ya I like it that much. With overall factors considered the Murano cant be beat, plan & sinple!!!

Our Murano is operated in very harsh enviroment in Minnesota and just keeps running perfectly. Maintenance is easy and i put new brake pads on at 60k miles. The finish is standing uo very well considering tree branch contact. Compared to my friends Lexus it rides better and we the CVT. I will buy one again unless they make changes that detract from its current performance. I almost forgot my wife hit in a parking lot in the left rear and bumper was damaged. I pulled it out by hand and it popped in shape and only minor scratches. I fix that problem in the spring. We feel very good about our murano and I feel its refined enough almost anyone taste.

  • Sports Car and SUV in one sweet package - 2003 Nissan Murano

I "buy and hold" cars for years. Thus I usually buy something that appeals to me visibly and I expect to be reliable. As for looks - there is nothing else out there like the Murano, including the RX 330 I test drove. The RX 330 was more "plush" on the inside, but the Murano is very nice on the inside too (love the leather seats). What it came down to is two things - (1) style appeal and (2) value. As for the value, the Murano offers practically everything the RX 330 offers, but at $1000s less. Ive heard Lexus does not "deal" very much below MSRP. I have enjoyed driving the Murano for the last 3 weeks.

The choice was between the Highlander, the 4Runner (I know, a very different beast), and the Murano. I liked the styling of the Murano, the interior space, but most of all the way it drives. The CVT transmission is very smooth, and gets this beast going very quickly. I have found the interior to be rattle free (and I got the SE with the tight suspension). I love the way you can flick the transmission into S from D and enjoy some engine braking while moving quickly down a windy road. FUN!
