Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Sweeeeeeeet - 2003 Nissan Murano
By tgbeard - August 6 - 10:00 amThe CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) in the Murano has got to be driven to be appreciated. You can put it on cruise, go up and down hills and never feel the regular "shift shock" weve become accustomed to in regular 4 or 5 gear automatic transmissions. This baby is smoooooth. My kids used to argue about who got to ride up front... not anymore! The person in the back is cruising with lots of room thanks to the ample roominess of the back seat and the reclining feature of the back seat! This car is a joy to drive... the horsepower is responsive with acceleration from take-off to mid- range torque already at cruising speed.

2011 Murano SL vs. 2009 Murano LE - 2011 Nissan Murano
By stradivarius - August 1 - 5:19 pmI purchased a 2009 Murano LE September 2008 and recently traded for 2011 SL @ 74K miles. The 09 was my first Nissan and I really liked it so I opted for another. The SL now has the power lift gate and memory seats which are important to me so I did not need LE. For the most part the vehicles are very similar. The 11 seems to ride and handle better with 18"wheels vs. 20". I also seem to be getting better gas mileage which should improve when broken in. Biggest gripe is voice recognition of bluetooth is horrible vs. 09. Also I cant believe that Nissan did away with cd changer on $39K vehicle which I did not catch before buying. As far as headlights not being xenon, I cant tell difference.

A Dream.... - 2004 Nissan Murano
By happymetoo - July 29 - 7:53 pmThis car is a dream! I just traded in my Nissan XTerra for the Murano. We loved the XTerra but this feels like I am driving a Cadillac which just happens to be an SUV. In Alaska where we are, handling on ice & snow are primary for us with a vehicle. This couldnt handle better. The heated seats are a plus too, along with the dual climate control for both front seat passangers to be comfortable. The sleek design leaves me looking back at my car each time I park it to see how beatiful it really is. The back seat is so roomy for passangers, along with the fact they recline also makes it a great driving experience for all.

Great car! - 2006 Nissan Murano
By PVale - July 29 - 2:03 pmI purchased this car for the safety features and supposed gas mileage. This car handles great and I love to drive it. I purchased this car about 6 months ago and was in one hit and run accident Christmas Eve. The safety features worked beautifully, the repairs were done and the car drives like nothing ever happened.

Suprono Murano - 2016 Nissan Murano
By Mike - July 24 - 12:13 pmSV model AWD. This car is super comfy. Front seats are so comfortable I drove 8 hrs with no problem. Back seats recline. Just had 30 inches of snow and no problem getting around. Wife loves the remote start. High beams are very impressive you can see far down the road. I get alot of compliments on how sleek and good looking it is. I was test driving a Rav 4 but for $2000 more I went with the Murano and I am so glad I did.

My Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano
By mochell - July 24 - 2:00 amFound this car after searching SUVs for 2yrs. My husband was totally against them because of the Roll Over. Well the Murano proved to be a perfect car for both of us. The Ride is great & so quiet. The CVT is fantastic. We have grandchildren & they all love riding in this car. The Safety factor makes me feel very protected. I would recommend anyone to Test drive this car. We have the Navigation system & that is certainly woth the extra. This is a terrific car.
