Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Murano Highs and Lows - 2006 Nissan Murano
By Big Blue - August 27 - 2:50 amGreat styling and general performance. Gas mileage is much less than similar cars of this size that I have owned. The car is solid, but any packages that I place in the car rattle like crazy. This is the only car where I have experienced this phenomenon. It detracts immensely from the overall driving experience. Is there that much difference in the ride of an SL versus my SE?

Nissans Murano Rocks! - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Judy Dalton - August 24 - 4:13 pmI can honestly say my Murano is the best vehicle Ive ever owned/driven. For the first year or so that I had my Murano it was almost a daily event to have someone approach me and comment on the color (Sunlit Copper) and design. I even had a couple of folks follow me to get a better look! I opted for all the bells and whistles and havent been disappointed. It starts on the first try and runs like a top. You wont reget buying one, I guarantee it!

Best crossover all things considered - 2009 Nissan Murano
By Peter Zeff - August 22 - 7:40 amWe considered many SUVs and narrowed our choice down to Toyota Highlander and RAV4, Honda CV-R, Subaru Forester, and Nissan Rogue. The Murano has by far the best styling inside and out. The size was slightly bigger than it appears so it is not quite as nimble as some of the smaller offerings. We did not want either a sunroof or third row seating and this is one vehicle where you dont have to pay for those options and you can actually find in dealer inventory. We recently took it on a 400 mile trip and found it to be extremely quiet and comfortable. It seems to be getting good mileage about what the EPA estimate suggests. All things considered I think of it as a "poor mans" Lexus RX 350.

The Best - 2004 Nissan Murano
By sridhar - August 19 - 10:00 amThis was my first vehicle, and the experience is far far above my expectations. the consumption is amazingly good for a SUVs in its class, 21/25 mpg city/highway. The smooth ride is so cool that you wont even notice the gear shift. The control on high speed is something one has to feel. Talking more about this vehicle is not possible at this moment due to the stipulated number of characters in this section. So, in short it THE BEST. Highly recomended.

Its a great car! - 2005 Nissan Murano
By W. Schaefer - August 14 - 1:10 pmWe just got home from a 3200 mile vacation trip. 23.4 MPG average. Any comparable vehicle is $10,000 more and burns more fuel, usually premium gas. We use regular all the time. Its fun to drive, looks great, and Im getting lots of favorable comments and questions.

My dream vehicle... - 2003 Nissan Murano
By flyingguy - August 11 - 2:00 amI just bought my 2003 Murano SL, spent the entire day driving. WOW! The steering is *very* solid, it has plenty of power, it handles great, and has FANTASTIC comfort. This vehicle completely satisfies my needs for having something stylish, peppy, and practical. The CVT makes acceleration so smooth. It is an absolute dream to drive!

GottaGet1 - 2006 Nissan Murano
By GottaGet1 - August 7 - 5:20 amI test drove the Murano, a Toyota Highlander, and a Honda Pilot. I was so impressed with everything that the Murano had to offer! The CVT transmission was so smooth and accelerated with ease. The interior is plush and so comfortable. The exterior is sharp and eye-catching. The sound system is top-notch. The interior leather package is luxurious, but practical. I cant say enough good things about this vehicle!
