Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

I have owned this since new, went in to buy an Altima, drove out in the Murano. It has been a joy to drive. It has been a reliable vehicle for over 142,000 miles. The only major problem Ive had was the transfer case went out at 138,000 ($3000 to fix, still cheaper than a new car). The one flaw I have found is the fuel filler neck rusting and pitting, causing the Check Engine light to come on, I have sanded it down applied LPS3 rust preventor on it well see if that lasts.

  • Love this car!!! - 2006 Nissan Murano

When I drove my moms Murano for the first time, I knew I had to have one of these for myself. Just picked up my new one yesterday and so far am loving it. Nissan has made great improvements thos this car in both looks and features over the past 2 years. This car gets great mileage for an SUV with so much power. I believed it was the best in its class and truly believe it now that Im behind the wheel of one of these babies. The seats are very plush and comfy - great for my long road trips. Cant wait to test out the AWD on the snow!

  • Like it better than my Jag - 2003 Nissan Murano

A blast to drive-I look foreward to getting into my Murano and driving it. I prefer it to my wifes Jag-anytime! Easy to get in and out and friends cannot believe the amount of leg room in the back. And ,in my opinion, it looks better than any of those "all look the same" boring SUVs on the market(SUVs in its class that is).

  • What a ride! - 2004 Nissan Murano

We looked for an SUV for about a month and this was the last one we looked at. My first thought was wow, looks like a pregnant space potato. My wife likes unique looking vehicles and once she drove it there was no turning back to the conventional looking SUVs. The 3.5L engine matched with the CVT is fantastic. The back seat is exceptionally large and the seating is very comfortable. The engines power and the CVT makes this one of the best rides weve had in the past seven years. Be sure to work out your best deal with about 4 Nissan Dealers. This vehicle is only 2 years on the market and there werent any factory incentives at this time.

  • I really, really like it - 2009 Nissan Murano

I purchased the SL AWD with the dual moonroof, leather, premium and technology packages, wanted the LE, but couldnt justify the extra cash. Its been 9 months, and I must say, the car has grown on me. In the last month Ive seen so many 09 Muranos on the road, the word must have gotten out. I must admit it was kind of nice being the only one around.

  • Best Value - 2015 Nissan Murano

Had my 2015 Murano for over a month now and this vehicle lives up to all of Nissans advertising. Seats are comfortable on long trips, driving position is great, and interior is nice and quiet. Handling is great and of special note is the acceleration. Although Edmunds claim it doesnt have the speed, I beg to differ. Here in Texas we have the shortest on-ramps and let me tell you I can merge into traffic at 70+. Coming back from a road trip ran into some rare snow and the vehicle handled well. Still havent figured out all the bells and whistles yet. Only drawback is the front left window shield pillar. Kinda blocks your view when making left turns. Other than that, awesome vehicle.

  • My New Murano! - 2006 Nissan Murano

I traded in my Trailblazer for a Murano and I must say its the best thing Ive ever done. It doesnt throw you around like a lot of SUVs do and the handling and acceleration are superb for in town and hwy driving. I love it and Ill probably keep it until it stops running. (Hopefully that will be a long time from now!!!) "Go go Murano!!"

  • BEST OF THEM ALL - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

My Nissan Murano is probably the best looking vehicle ever created at any price. I have had my Murano over 14 months and people still come up to me or fall out of their cars to see who makes it. I have owned Nissans all my life. From a pick up at 20 years old, putting 220,000 mile on the original engine ( and still was going strong)I have encounterd vertually no mechanical problems with any of my Nissans. Nissan is so far superior to Toyota or Honda in both mechanics and design, but so sadly overlooked.(maybe until now) I could drive anything I want and my Murano is it!
