Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

2005 Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By rick - April 4 - 8:13 pmStylish, comfortable, well laid out, really good SUV fuel encomy. We evaluated many other SUVs but felt cross-overs were a better choice for our life style. Of the cross-overs, the Murano was a clear standout for us, even compared to more expensive models like the Lexus RX330 and the VW Toureg V6.

Best Crossover Vehicle on the Market - 2007 Nissan Murano
By Mark - April 4 - 8:13 amJust bought an 07 Murano SL with the touring package. This is a great vehicle for the price. Many safety features that are standard on this SUV are in packages in SUVs that cost thousands more. The ride is very smooth and extremely quiet. This ride also turns a lot of heads. I strongly recommend this vehicle. My Murano is a SL equipped with the touring package. Which basically gives you all the features you would ever want in any car class. Nissan has hit a grand slam with this one.

Seats - 2009 Nissan Murano
By 50 ish - March 29 - 5:56 amI have had my 09 SL for a week now and while I am very pleased with how it drives and handles, it has the most uncomfortable seats I have had. Besides poor alignment, even with power seats they are rock hard! If you ever have had had back issues, I would really take a 2nd look at this before your purchase and consider a more level seat. The design is very poor for lower back support. Also there are numerous blind spots that I suppose can be adjusted to. Its a shame because its a very cool car otherwise

Murano Rules! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By cindy3792 - March 28 - 2:00 amWhat a wonderful vehicle! I feel safe, yet stylish. The transmission is awesome - smooth as silk! Mileage is better than an SUV by far! Its easy to get in an out of - rather than hiking myself in and out of my old Explorer! The Bose system is worth the $$!

Great Style & Function - 2007 Nissan Murano
By AlbertZ - March 25 - 1:40 amIts the first Nissan Ive ever had. Owned Toyota and Honda before. Dont like Hondas boxy style. Toyota has good quality however performance is lacking. Wanted a Murano when it just came out, finally got a 2007 SL AWD w/ Touring Pkg. Loved it!!! Very stylish and functional. Its wide enough and very spacious in the back. Handles like a car, small turning radius. I dont really need a third row seat so this one is perfect.

WOW - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Beranek - March 22 - 10:00 amWhen I began looking for a new car, I knew I wanted to find an economical SUV. The Murano cant be beat in this category. I drive 25-30 miles to work each day and I routinely get 25 - 26 miles per gallon!! I live in the country and the 2WD model handles great on hilly, curvy roads - no need to pay extra for AWD unless you plan to spend some serious time off-roading. I traded in my Infiniti for this car (do not be fooled...the Murano is an Infiniti-quality car in disguise!). I test-drove the FX45 and the Murano proved to be, not only $8000 less, but better handling in wet conditions (it was raining during the test-drive) and easier to get in and out.

Murano best of Class - 2003 Nissan Murano
By MuranoDoug - March 22 - 10:00 amI have been having fun from the day I drove off the lot. It has also proven itself practically, as I travel each weekend to a cabin, and it has as much functional packing space as my last 2 explorers. I have had it now for a few months and am still looking for something that is not good - but I have yet to find it! It takes me back to when I owned a Prelude - it is that fun to drive.

At 7,500 Miles - 2003 Nissan Murano
By He Dog - March 22 - 10:00 amFit and finsh are superb. Wind and road noise are surprisingly low, unless any window(s) is down, even slightly, for buffeting is horrible. An open sunroof, even slightly, is extremely noisy, but open the sunroof as a "rear" vent, then the interior remains fairly quiet. Bose stereo is outstanding. Brakes, steering, and suspension are superb, as is the CVT. Engine is responsive and quiet. Setting the cruise control at 75 MPH, with the AC on while going up a steep hill, is no problem for this car. Increasing 4 PSI to tires adds almost 1.5 MPG. Glacier while is gorgeous.
