Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Well this is not a car for people who dont got the green. This is a car for people who have some money to spend and want to have fun out on the road. The 2004 Nissan Murano has great pick up, even without using the overdrive. Not to mention its ability to stop on dime. The handling is simply superb. However thats just the way it drives. The great thing about this car is the standard 6 speaker with woofer Bose stereo system. Going down the road with a rap disc ahving the speakers blaring and the base turned up makes you look like youve got a couple of aftermarket woofers in the trunk. The suspension needs a little work. But, if youre cruising down the highway nothing can stop you

This car has been nothing but a joy to own and operate. I would strongly recomend it to anyone. I use to only own hondas, but after a bad experience with my last one I decided to try another make. It was the best decision I could have made

  • Simply Love It! - 2004 Nissan Murano

We drove at least a dozen SUVs, CUVs, and station wagons before deciding on the Murano. Its the best of all worlds. We love the ride and handling. We prefer the SEs stiffer suspension over the SLs--it doesnt seem at all "harsh" to us. The CVT is very cool. Im willing to sacrifice a little performance for better gas mileage. Ive never owned a vehicle that so many strangers have stopped and complimented. The most often used term in describing it is "bad a** looking." The stereo is AWESOME. The more I drive it, the more I love it.

  • Why not a Murano - 2006 Nissan Murano

We have had a Nissan Murano since December of 2005. The car is excellent for road trips. I have taken three teenagers, 15, 18, 19 on several road trips in the past two years and have not heard complaints from the back seat. We find gas mileage on the highway averages around 26mpg, 28 if its really easy driving. Around town we find this to be the perfect urban SUV. INterior is very nice the dash is easy to use and the handling is outstanding. Similar to our old maxima. Cargo space is quite good, see 3 teenagers, 2 adults road trip, everyone brought a suitcase and a couple of coolers. I plan to drive this until the wheels fall off.

I have owned my 2004 SE AWD Murano since June of 04. I have had zero defects or complaints. The tires are entry level and I will upgrade to a set of 255/55z X 18 when the stock tires get thin. I have 13800 miles on the vehicle and only oil changes for expences. I put a bug deflector on the vehicle because they attract stones to the windshield as well as bugs. When you look at the vehicle from the side you can see the muffler hanging down. It is not just my Murano, they all hang down. The dealer said that is the way they come. I would suggest the Nissan Co. get a new exaust system designer for this car. An exaust system should not be seen or heard, unless its on a Harley Davidson. J

  • Still happy after 3.5 years/80K!! - 2003 Nissan Murano

This is absolutely the best car I have ever owned. Even after 3.5 years and 80,000 miles, I would buy this car again! Love the transmission and POWER! Way roomier than people think and drives like a dream. Had only one problem (alternator) but it was 100% covered by recall. I bought this car for the styling and the drive. The only bad thing is that you cannot replace the factory radio with a custom stereo. However, I worked around this by loosing the tray beneath the middle of the console and adding a custom stereo with subwoofer and top of the line speakers. It can be done!

    Exceeds all our expectations!

  • Nice ride - and my wife loves the Murano - 2009 Nissan Murano

Im 65" and the Murano fit me better than any other midsized and most large SUVs - and I tried them all! The ride is very comfortable and the Murano drives great in the snow. The technology is well done particularly the dashboard layout. Fit, finish and overall construction is excellent. The 20" wheels make the LE the only Murano to buy and everyone comments how great the Murano looks. The only glitch is the O/D button. It is in a bad location - it is too easy to bump while turning on the heated seats or reaching into the center console in front of the shifter.

  • Most gorgeous perfect car on the road - 2006 Nissan Murano

Fun to drive, head turning, comfortable, carefree (because of the navigation and keyless entry) no more searching for your keys in your purse, I wish my house had this too! Camera when backing up, no worries about running someone over, smooth drive, easy to handle, DVD player for the 2yr old, awesome bose stereo and 6 cd holder, I am in Love with this car!!

The Murano handles well, the ride is quiet and comfortable. This mid-size SUV is perfect for my needs. Cargo space is easy to load - from grocery shopping bags to golf clubs and luggage on a recent trip.
