Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • Murano - Great choice for city folks - 2003 Nissan Murano

Overall, great SUV. And priced right. The fuel economy has actually improved since I purchased it in March 03. The roominess and ease of adjusting rear seats are great as well. I think the auto adjusting drivers seat is un- needed (I couldnt have that removed at the dealership - it was on all autos) and the fact that you cant get heated seats by themselves are both bummers, but Im still very pleased with the purchase.

Great vehicle. Im driving 40K miles per year and it is a real pleasure. Only annoying problem is that the front windows rattle on nearly every road surface type.

Smooth riding and great pick-up. Love the style and how it doesnt blend in. The standard and optional features are great. There really isnt much one could ask for that isnt already available.

  • Nissan Marrano SL FWD - 2003 Nissan Murano

Have the Marrano for 12 weeks. I have had no problems of any kind. Love the exterior styling. Love the interior styling and room. Like the rear flat folding seats.I feel the handling and performance is very good for an SUV. I really like the b&g pedals that adjust, along with the dual air, stereo, auto on/off lights and sun roof. The gas milage is getting better, I have gotten it as high as 25 mpg for highway, around 20 city.

  • Whoa nelly! - 2003 Nissan Murano

This is the car (sorry SUV) youre dreamed about. Interior, exterior, who said you had to comprimise? Drive a BMW 3 series. This beats it hands down.

  • Murano a Great Car - 2003 Nissan Murano

The Murano is a great car to drive. Not too big, not too small. Handles like a car, but has the comfort and space of an SUV. Love the fast acceleration and smooth handling. Interior features are good, too.

  • Love my Murano - 2004 Nissan Murano

The first snow of this Winter got me to trade in my VW Jetta, which was awful in any precipitation. I test drove traditional SUVs and crossovers, liked the Murano style and comfort best, and it was not outrageously priced. Now I drive in any weather with confidence for the first time in years. And a nice thing for an SUV, my Murano has a very high Wow! factor from passengers and passersby.

I did not want the vehicle, but it was company issued. after 3 days of driving it, I loved it. It is just as good as any lexus. I have drove them all,and this is a great vehicle.

  • AWESOME CAR!!! - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

I went from 10.5 mpg SUV to the Murano (my 1st crossover) and I LOVE it. I have had it for 1 month and have just over 1000 miles on it and I know I made the right choice. I got it loaded and love all the gadgets it has. I seem to be getting about 22 mpg with a mix of city/highway driving. The Bose stereo is awesome and I love the navigation and back up camera. I am still getting used to not having to take my key out of my pocket to open the car or start it. I like the power rear hatch and the power return on the rear seats. I find the interior very plush and comfortable. The engine with the CVT is very quick. Great job on this one Nissan.
