Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

So Far, So Good - 2003 Nissan Murano
By TMG - April 29 - 10:00 amPurchased new SL 2WD 3 weeks ago, $300 over invoice. So far been an excellent experience. Design and ride are great. Fuel economy seems to be improving (after bad start), on 3rd tank, up to 21mpg, but since mostly highway, should be better. Havent found many disappointments, its a great vehicle. One complaint is that it does still have a trucklike/SUV ride when cornering (but this is my first SUV after 10 years w a sports car), SE may be tighter suspension. Overall would recommend to any new crossover buyer.

Great Vehicle - 2003 Nissan Murano
By lnichols - April 29 - 10:00 amThis is truly a great cross-over SUV. It handles and accelerates like a sporty car. The CVT is fantastic. Gas mileage is great for an SUV, but I find that the city values are below the window spec of 20 mpg (more like 18 to 19). Bose Radio system is good, but the RDS is not fully functional. I have to have a few rattles looked at by the dealership.

I love my Murano - 2009 Nissan Murano
By OldKingsFan - April 25 - 12:30 pmI have had the Murano almost 2 years and I am still glad I bought it. I wish I had gotten the Navi sys. But the cheap in me came out. I couldnt be happier this has been a great SUV. The one draw back is the gas mileage. I didnt realize I had a lead foot.

Car totally died at 16000 miles - 2005 Nissan Murano
By NOnissan - April 20 - 9:56 amI leased this car brand new, at 16k it cost $1500+ to fix SLUDGE in the engine--warrantee did not cover. Then ALTERNATOR died, had to have the car towed TWICE, once i had to pay for a new battery because Nissan refused to look beyond a dead batter as cause for car dying on highway-- after SECOND tow, they replaced alternator which was covered by warantee. Battery, tows, were NOT covered. I will NEVER buy another Nissan!! Company has poor product, even worse customer service.

In love - enjoying the honeymoon! - 2004 Nissan Murano
By 1st Time Nissan Ownr - April 10 - 2:00 amThis is my 1st Nissan. After 3 Hondas, I gave up on them. This blows away my 2000 Accord V6 coupe with its rattles and cheap leather interior. Also had a Civic and a Prelude SI. My Accord bored me to tears. I was tired of looking at SUVs until I saw the Murano. I wanted AWD and heated seats. This car has so much more and the compliments are nonstop. My only disappointment is the gas mileage. It is not what they claimed. Any ideas on improving this would be appreciated.

Good Vehicle...Just Miss My Maxima - 2007 Nissan Murano
By Walt - April 9 - 6:20 pmOverall this car has been great for my family. We traded an 04 Maxima for this vehicle and although I miss the power and feel of the Maxima this crossover does drive very well, even on long trips. You do lose some pep with the CVT but who is trying to race with kids in the car or in any crossover SUV for that matter. It still accelerates on the freeway and out of red lights. The seats could use more comfort and I think Nissan needs to revamp the style because of the new look and space inside the Highlander. Overall I would recommend this car to others.

Love this car - 2004 Nissan Murano
By katemitch - April 5 - 10:00 amWe just bought our Murano 3 weeks ago and I love it. As a mom I got tired of the mini van. We also had Rendevous which was a piece of junk in comparision to the Murano. I actually like to drive now. Nissan needs to promote this vechicle. It is AWESOME.
