Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

I love Muranos - 2016 Nissan Murano
By Popper - September 9 - 10:57 pmThis is my second Murano. They are extremely comfortable and I would include it as a luxury vehicle. Getting in and out is so easy if you have a bad back such as I do, and I love the captain bucket chairs! The Bluetooth is much improved since my 2009 LE. It is much more comfortable than the Lexus. There are really only a couple of improvements that I would suggest. The safety warning signals could be a little louder and the around town gas mileage is not very good but great on the highway. I would not consider any other SUV in this price range as it is superior to all others.

Looks can be deceiving - 2005 Nissan Murano
By CB1973 - September 8 - 2:40 amExterior looks are great, but the car feels cheap. Too much plastic inside, alignment issues (ALWAYS pulls in one direction, my 2002 accord drives better), seat seems to be loose, shift knob gets loose, poorly designed electronics system, monochrome screen for onboard display (kind of like an old DOS PC).

My Murano - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Ray - September 7 - 12:33 pmI have owned this Murano now almost 1 year and I must say I have had trouble! the interior back door panels had to be stuffed with foam @ the dealer to prevent rattle noise. The car has had 1 recall (altenator) and now just today I had a breakdown defective transmission. I probably will not see my car for a week, but I guess that can be a good thing. What else can go wrong? I will be going back to Honda or Toyota maybe even American. When this car drives it is nice, I like to say it feels like riding on glass, and it is comfortable but I do not tolerate breakdowns. Good luck I hope my narrative helps.

It Doesnt Get Any Better Than This! - 2009 Nissan Murano
By Debbie - August 23 - 10:00 amLooked at the Muranos prior to 2008, about the time I decided to buy one, they stopped production (none in 2008). When production resumed in 2009 (for 2010 models) I hit the dealership. Found the one I wanted - exactly - and bought it. OMG! Fell in love that day and still in the honeymoon phase with this Murano.

Like riding on clouds! - 2017 Nissan Murano
By Vicki B - August 19 - 10:00 amThis is the most comfortable car I have ever driven or ridden in. I knew exactly what I wanted, not a lot of extras, the car comes with almost everything I wanted, drove 142 miles to buy it. I drove it home and wasnt miserable. I have been driving a Volvo XC90 and thought it was a comfortable car until I got the Murano... I am still learning how to operate all the newer gadgets, but it is not difficult at all. So far, the only thing I wish I had added is darker tint on the glass. The Apple play is not useful for those of us who dont care for iPhones. I had heard that the 20 inch wheels were not as smooth as 18s, but I would fall asleep if it were any smoother. Even my husband, who is a very tough sell on new ideas, is very impressed. He is 63", weighs about 240 lbs and can drive the car very comfortably. I have not folded the rear seats, not sure I ever will, so I cant comment. So far, so great!!!

5000 mile update - 2010 Nissan Murano
By Billiebad - August 18 - 6:16 pmI gotta say - I love this car. I drove my RX330 again today and while the Lexus wins on build quality - the steering, brakes, technology and toughness of the Murano excel. I love the looks, the use of space, the seats. The Lexus has been around and performed well over the years - I will need to rewrite this in 5 years. For golfers - the Murano holds clubs across the back storage - 4 bags easy - the Lexus was not wide enough. I also notice the climate control is better than the RX - one always hit me in the face the Murano circulates the air more effectively. For Mid-size SUV the Murano is hard to beat for value, performance and features.

No regrets here! - 2007 Nissan Murano
By Jodi - August 14 - 3:30 pmI bought the 07 SL just 2 weeks ago. No regrets here! The CVT is quiet and smooth. The interior is extremely roomy for 5 and the cargo space is abundant. Im getting just about 22 mpg with about 60% of my driving on surface streets. Like anyone else, having better gas mileage would be nice, but if that was my #1 priority, I wouldnt have gotten an SUV. The main 2 downfalls I have found is 1) no MP3 player jack (but have heard they are adding this to the 09s), and 2) the compartment spaces could be a bit more functional. The top space is only deep enough for a few pens and the CD compartment is much deeper than anyone really needs. But if this is the worst of it, Ill take it!

SUV of the year - 2009 Nissan Murano
By Miss Jones - August 12 - 11:13 pmIf you like style then you have to see the Murano, SL, or LE. This SUV is perfect, not too big and not too small. Drives like a car, so smooth on long trips, quality cabin upgrades. Im warning you if you drive one you will buy one. I did and love it. Got it fully loaded with everything but Navigation on my 2009.
