Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Pros: looks good, drives good, nice interior. Mileage OK. Cons: trip odometer stopped working, wipers cycle sometimes when the car is cranked, the gas mileage is show 5 or 6 different places and is more than I calculate.

After driving an audi A4 2.8Q for 5 years needed more space but wanted awd. My daily commute is 60m through mts of central PA in all types of weather. This was the choice over many other suvs. I am very happy. Great space, power, control. As my wife calls it my souped up wagon!

Fun car to drive.. Gas mileage has been as advertised. Only 2 minor complaints.. Rubbing noise coming from trim around drivers door.. Shade from sunroof doesnt close all the way about 1/2 the time

I needed more room than I had in my 325xi BMW Sportwagon. The back seat room is terrific and my big dog loves the hatch area. It is not a BMW, but still handles well. Its about as cool a mommy car that I am going to have. My favorite thing is when people ask me what it is or when someone tells me that it is a beautiful Lexus. Then I tell them I paid $10,000 less.

Murano, Love everything but the name..this vehicle stands out in the crowded crossover market. The only complaint I have, and trust me Im very pickey, is there is a lot of vibration comming from the gas petal.. must have something to do with the movability of the petals.. I never hesitate to recomend this vehicle to anyone. their is so many on the road (or at least they stand out) that Im going to have to start customising to recognize my car.

Excellent Crossover with plenty of sporty character and high-tech goodies. Since its based on an Altima platform, handling and cornering is good, with very good steering feel. CVT is interesting, a nice combination with a sweet engine. The Murano is more upscale than its competitors, and more comfortable front and back. Comfortable seats with lots of room--Im 67" tall and there is still plenty of room in back seat.

  • Wasnt looking to buy a Murano... - 2009 Nissan Murano

On my way to sign the paperwork on another SUV, I decided to stop in and checkout the Rogue, - too small - salesman suggested the Murano and I test drove it - just because. I never made it to the other dealership and bought it right then. I have always driven Toyota and Honda but the Murano was much nicer and had many standard options. I have had the Murano for a month and I look for reasons to drive. Comfort, handling and the interior will keep me in this SUV for a while. The other SUVs I was considering, Toyota Highlander (wife has one), Subaru Tribeca, and the Hyundai Santa Fe. For better gas mileage use premium fuel and switch to full synthetic oil (Mobile 1).

Love this car! I love the styling, the ride, and the luxury of my new MO. It is so easy to get into and out of and I sit high enough to see. Guests tell me the back seat is very comfortable too. This car replaced my 11 year old beloved Blazer and was a great choice!

Easy and Fun to drive. Get alot of questions/comments from others wanting know, if it is as fun to drive as it looks. Like the futurist look. Like the exterior color (Pearl), interior color (Tan) and the way it still looks like new. Easily fits 4 large men. Comfortably seats 2 large/tall men/women in front and 3 average size adults in back. Back storage is large. Will hold several suitcases and all the shopping items you could purchase in a day, including groceries. Drives like a car. Interior performs like a much larger SUV. Would purchase another for sure!

  • Best SUV/Crossover on the Planet - 2003 Nissan Murano

My son and I test drove every SUV and"crossover" vehicle made , and we decided on the new Murano by Nissan. Having driven it,we are more jazzed about it now than before. The power is stunning, the styling is head-turning (we were watching pedestrians watch us), and the thoughtfulness of the interior layout is superb. The key to the whole deal is the 3.5 liter power plant with close to 250 horsepower, wedded to a gearless CVT transmission that conserves fuel. That, along with the front-wheel drive and the sport-mode automatic transmission option makes this thing both super quick and sure-footed.
