Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • Excellent Choice for X-over SUV - 2006 Nissan Murano

As a long time Toyota and Honda owner - 8 Toyotas and 3 Hondas, it was a monumental decision to try Nissan. The Murano has quelled any concerns I had about Nissan products! This machine is incredible; the "shiftless" CVT is flawless and provides constant and even power throughout normal driving ranges. The ride is firm but refined, especially for SUVs. Although we have only driven the Murano in summer conditions, it has done extremely well in the rain and mud. Im sure it will be a very adequate vehicle for the winter season. Lastly, but far from the least, the overall buying experience at the dealership where I purchased this vehicle was by far the best I have ever had.

  • Great Vehicle - 2004 Nissan Murano

I have been looking for a nicer SUV that can handle all of the weather variations that Montana has to offer. I found it in a used Murano and purchased it a few hours later. I know that there are alot of people that wish to get better gas mileage with this vehicle. Given the size, I think that it gets as good of mileage as one can expect. I have family members with a toureg and they only get 15mpg in town. I am averaging 19 mpg. Great ride, sound accel. and no lurching during shifting. It is not a vehicle that I would take bajaing but it will take us to the ski mountains and almost anywhere else we need to go. In all it is everything that I could expect from an SUV but even more.

This vehicle is underwhelming and gets terrible mpg

  • Just a great car to drive - The Murano - 2004 Nissan Murano

I enjoy the overall comfortability of this car. You glide right into the seats, you dont have to climb in or duck down to get in it. Its definitely my favorite choice out of all the SUVs on the market.

  • Very Happy - 2003 Nissan Murano

I have been switching off between a Murano and a Lincoln Navigator. Everytime I am in the Navigator I cant wait to get back to the Murano, it is so much more fun to drive. The Navigator is more luxurious but lumbers. The Murano is fun, fast, and I average 20 mpg. I find all of the gauges, dials, and levers well placed but they did take awhile to get used to

  • The New Murano - Everything I Expected - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

I upgraded from 03 to the 09 and am loving the improvements that they made. The new Murano has a very high class feel to it, with the plush leather seats, ambient lighting, and all the other features I loved on my 03. I got the Premium Package, Technology Package and Leather Package on my SL. The Bose sound is amazing. The leg room in the back seat is still unbeatable. My 68" friend has said he had never been able to ride comfortably in a back seat before riding in my Murano. The intellikey system is too cool. It has bluetooth capabilities, built in XM radio, power lift gate, xenon headlights, and so many more awesome features.

  • Always buy the extended warrantee!! - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

Im heartbroken at the collapse of this car after owning it for just over a year! I LOVED it, but out of the blue, with no warnings or dash lights, Im told that my transmission has failed with only 68k miles on the car! The important info is: Nissan does not repair transmissions - they only replace them at a more than $5k cost! Also, no transmission shops can work on them so there are no options. I cant believe this car broke down so quickly and buyer beware - Nissan repairs are insanely expensive!! I wish someone had told me this. I would have bought the extended warrantee.

  • Awsome ride - 2005 Nissan Murano

I previously owned a Nissan Pathfinder, and I thought that was a nice car... but the Murano blows it away. This is probably the most comfortable riding car Ive been in. I love the styling, very unique, I get a lot of stares. Nissan thought of everything. It has extras I was amazed by. It is a very quiet car, absolutly no road noise. The Bose system is great, I didnt know music could sound that good. I have nothing bad to say about this car.

  • Big Mo Great for Tall Drivers - 2010 Nissan Murano
    By -

Own the 2010 SL AWD Murano for 2 wks now and loving it. Merlot with Black, leather, prem, moonroof. Looks great. Gets lots of compliments around NJ/NY. Some of these auto mag review geeks just dont know beauty when its staring them in the face ; ). The drive is very sporty, and being 65"/235, it was one of the few cars that I felt totally comfortable in as a driver or passenger. The leather seats are like lazy-boys and the rest of the interior is luxurious. I leased a new Lexus RX350 for 4 yrs in the past, and the interiors are on par. I actually liked the Cadi SRX exterior the most, but overall, it just doesnt match up to the Murano. Researched for months - Best Ute for the $$.
