Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Smooth as Glass - 2003 Nissan Murano
By azeebabee - January 16 - 2:00 amAs our search narrowed down we had decided on the Audi allroad, But opne day I recieved a copy of Automobile magazine and in there wae a short report on the Murano. We were immediatly struck by its good looks and then and there decided a test drive was in order. Obviously we liked it. Great looking, powerful, sporty handling and about $12,000 LESS than the allroad.

Sad - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Her - January 16 - 2:00 amMy wife insisted on this car, so she bought it. Unfortunately I think we will trade it in. Too many squeaks. I hate design. It looks like raised up P/T Cruiser. Why is it so expansive if you can get a better Acura MDX? Buttons under the console, come on! Already have small scratch on aluminum trim. Engine truck-like vibration, again, not as refined as Lexus/Acura/MB/BMW

Quiet and smooth - 2003 Nissan Murano
By bill hearn - January 16 - 2:00 amThe best car I have ever driven. Quiet, smooth and plenty of power. The Morano looks like one of those concept cars at the auto show inside and out. The transmission is seemless (no feeling of changing gears). Everywhere I go someone has something to say about how great it looks. Once you test drive this car its all over with but writing the check.

FUTURISTIC PRACTICALITY - 2003 Nissan Murano
By TOMJA3 - January 11 - 10:00 amFOR SOMEONE WHO HAD DOUBTS ABOUT THE INTRODUCTION OF WHAT I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS A "RETOR-FUTURISTIC" DESIGN CONCEPT AND AN INNOVATIVE (ALL THOUGH TRIED AND TRUE OLD-CONTINENT" POWER TRANSFER CONCEPT WITH THE NEW CVT TRANSMISSION, I AM TRULY IMPRESSED. SMOOTH, QUICK, AND CONSISTENT ACCELERATION, EXREMELY COMFORTABLE SEATING, GREAT VISIBILTY, THE BACK SEAT OF A LIMO, AND THE ROOM FOR LUGGAGE, GOLF CLUBS, GROCERIES AND THE DOG (ALL AT ONE TIME!), MAKE THIS THE PERFECT VEHICLE FOR THE MULTI-FACETED NEEDS AND USES OF TODAYS DRIVER, WHETHER INDIVIDUAL OR FAMILY-ORIENTED. GOOD JOB, NISSAN!

Solid Performer - 2003 Nissan Murano
By ricardoa - January 11 - 10:00 amThe Murano is a solid choice in the mid- size SUV ranks. Nissan has got it right with the aggressive styling that makes most other SUVs look boring, ample power, excellent fit and finish, and the amazing CVT un-transmission that feeds power continuously, with no hesitation.

Love my Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Just - January 6 - 10:00 amThis is my 3rd nissan and by far my favorite! 7500 miles and counting since February. This car is fun to drive. It is very smooth , great acceleration - no problem passing anyone on the highway. Great looks - very roomy. Most comfortable back seat of any car I have seen. Gas mileage not bad for SUV - and has improved since I got it -averaging 19 around town and 21 on the highway. I plan on owning this car a long time!

Enjoying our Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano
By cmarc - January 6 - 10:00 amEnjoy the back seat space and also surprised at the large amount of rear storage space. This has been a great step to move away from the "moms van" world as the kids grow older.

A fun ride! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By jeffdubuque - January 6 - 10:00 amI have driven Nissans for almost 20 years, my last one being a Pathfinder that I had for four years. This is easily the best Nissan I have ever had. It handles remarkably, and seems very nimble. The fuel economy is great. At 64" I really appreciate the amount of room for the driver and passenger. There is still plenty of room in the back too. This is one fun ride.
