Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

best deal out there - 2004 Nissan Murano
By mjdj74 - April 15 - 10:00 amCar is great, couple little qwerks to iron out like driver window was making noise and leather on center console covering the entertainment system started coming off and the breaks started to squeak after just 15000 miles. Other than that the only thing that sucks is dealing with the dealer, we have tried three different dealers between California and Arizona and customer service is a negative about Nissan. But eventually everything gets taken care of. The SE ride is a little harsh but is a good trade off for the standard tiptronic trans. navigation sys. is a must along with the bose sound sys. We would definitely buy another murano.

At a Glance - 2003 Nissan Murano
By researchdriven - April 12 - 2:00 amI was driving an ML320 and looking to trade in for better gas mileage. I looked at all the crossovers but nothing compared to my ML. Innitially didnt like the look but test drove Murano anyway. The car is fun to drive, a lot like my ML but smaller stearing wheel. Leather was ok.. but the cloth in the Murano was the best of any of the similar SUVs Id seen. Even with no options the car had a lot in it. The CVT was a bit strange at first but the SUV moves nicely. I have had it just a week and I dont miss my ML.

Love It, Love It, Love It!! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By kobrock - April 12 - 2:00 amWe bought our Murano 2 weeks ago and we love it! We had a 2001 Maxima that we really enjoyed, but this is even more fun. The ride is smoother and the engine has more pep. We love the leather interior and the placement of the radio/climate controls closer to the driver. The interior is very roomy and feels bigger than it looks from the outside. The adjustable back seats are also a plus. All around it is a great SUV/car!

My 4th Murano 2013 SL w/Nav - 2013 Nissan Murano
By scubadave1 - April 11 - 9:12 pmLeased 9/26/13. After shopping and test driving a whole bunch of cars, I decided to stay with Murano for my 4th time.(39 month lease) The CVT is unmatched for a smooth ride and the addition of a navigation package was smart idea on my part. I gave only "average" ratings on design because its been unchanged in 10 years, not a negative, just not anything new. The Blind spot monitoring is a great feature, although itll take me a while to trust it. Build quality and reliability on my last 3 Muranos has been perfect, Ive got my fingers crossed that the 2013 model continues that trend.

The surprise cute-ute - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Dan - April 8 - 11:53 amI started searching for a small SUV to replace my wifes old 03 Outback. I had narrowed my choices down between the rav4 & crv. After finding that the rav4 equipped the way we wanted wasnt a good deal, I was sure the crv would be the car. We happened to checkout the new rogue, but we werent impressed with it. My wife however, liked the Murano. After realizing it was MUCH bigger than it looks, we took one for a spin, and liked the overall feel. We went to look at the crv, and did not like it, so we went back and got a murano. MPG is good IMO for a V6 SUV. Weve had the car for over 2 weeks now, and consistently avg about 20-21 mpg with mostly "city" (stop lights) driving. Great car!

My Murrano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Mya - April 5 - 10:00 amMy husband and I researched multiple different SUVs as well as test drove all competiters in the same size and price range as the Murrano. I as well as my husband felt as far as comfort, ease of handling, safety, price, and just overall options offerd on this model, as well as fuel economy non of the competiters could compare to the Murrano. I felt very safe in it during the winter driving, it was able to go places most others couldnt. I have to say I would diffenitly recomend this vechile to anyone and I would buy it again if I had to do it all over.

Very Satisfied Customer - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Jenn - April 4 - 7:43 amAfter totaling my GMC Envoy and breaking my leg. I began my search for a new SUV, (I would never purchase another American made SUV) I wanted an SUV that was reliable, safe, and comfortable. I found all that in the Murano. In fact i was so impressed with this vehicle that my monther also purchased one for herself. I have never had any problems with the car in the 8 months that i have owned it, and I have never felt more safe in an SUV than i do in this one. I feel that Nissian has their act together. I am one VERY SATISIFIED CUSTOMER! I am now looking foward to purchasing the Nissian Titan to tow my horse trailer. Nissian is an increidible company that I stand by.

221,000 miles 2004 Nissan Murano - 2004 Nissan Murano
By LTR - April 2 - 10:07 amI purchased my car in 2006 from dealer? Great car at first until 100k miles Oil pan leak Replaced o-ring and seal twice Plastic tabs kept coming out from underneath car Tires didnt last long After 150k CV joint and axle rods replaced Back right window sticks intermittently ABS light stays on After 200k miles, everything was going Front drivers seat bracket broke, causing seat to slant. Had it welded and seat put back, power seat mechanism slips slightly Replaced radiator Replaced power steering parts Now, the car is hard pressed to go over 40mph uphill. When going over 50, drives smoothly, but unsure what the cause is...catalytic converter, fuel pump, fuel injectors, or spark plugs. All of which is costly because of the placement of parts under the engine. It has been a great car but would recommend selling around 100k miles Parts are expensive!

The new Hotness! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By rmill - April 1 - 10:00 amAfter looking at the Highlander, Pilot and Endeavor, I am SO happy with my decision to go with the Murano. This car has the looks, power and space Ive been looking for, not to mention the features. This is my first SUV, cominmg from a sports car and if you are coming from the same situation, this is definitely the vehicle for you. It handles excellently and has more power than my sports car! I think the CVT is awesome when it comes to power and fuel economy, though not quite up to the sticker highway 25 mpg, it still does great. This car is not just for families either, as a young single male I totatly love this vehicle. Cant go wrong with this one.

Love My Murano - 2010 Nissan Murano
By RC - March 31 - 4:43 pmI did a tremendous amount of research before buying this vehicle, Edmunds, Car and Driver, Consumer Reports, etc. Even attended an auto show to compare midsize crossovers. If you are looking for a premium, two row crossover the Murano wins hands down. The interior makes you feel that you are in an Infiniti and the seats are very comfortable. Except for a little wind noise from the side mirrors the cabin is very quite. Performance wise the engine-cvt combination provides excellent power in all situations and the handling is very good for crossover. The Murano is responsive with good feedback from the road. The Murano is fun to drive.
