Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Nice but poor gas mileage - 2003 Nissan Murano
By KellyM - May 29 - 2:00 amThe car is excellent in many respects, but I have two concerns: First, the front seats (cloth) are not comfortable (the angle of the drivers seat is pitched too far forward), and the gas mileage (EPA says 20/24) has averaged about 13 city / 17 highway. Other cars Ive owned have averaged about what EPA estimates, this one is a hayburner.

Great Vehicle - 2004 Nissan Murano
By darkelf - May 29 - 2:00 amIve only had this vehicle for four months, but so far I could not ask for a better ride or performance. On the highway you want to keep going. This urban vehicle gives a smooth and comfortable experience, above and beyond my expectations. So far; "Real good".

Fun to drive - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Golf26guy - May 24 - 10:00 amIve had my Murano for 1 month and 6500 miles already. I spend most of my time driving, and must say this is the best choice out there for less money than lexus and acura. Gas mileage is 24 on interstate and 19 city! If you put it to the floor it will outrun most other cars. I fully shopped before making my decision, drive this before you buy any other SUV. Wish I had XM radio!!

some fixes needed - 2004 Nissan Murano
By pzig - May 24 - 10:00 amSo far not a bad vehicle. Power is good, and nice design. Does have a lot of nice features and a very comfortable ride. Perfect for a family of 3 or 4. Does have some quirks. Bose radio not so great in sound quality, no automatic locking doors, cup holders dont hold different size cups, too many controls on the turn signal and wiper levers, hard to use, no tailgate open lever from inside or remote, inside plastic on tailgate will easily scratch if stuff moves aginst it, and the worst is the gas mileage, have averaged about 17mpg and only 21mpg on a 400mile trip.

Good but the body RATTLES a bit - 2004 Nissan Murano
By uKnowWho - May 24 - 2:00 amI bought my Murano on 26th Dec, 2003. Its a 2004 SL AWD model. Just passed the 2000 mile mark and there seems to be a rattle on the left, behind the driver seat/door at 20-30 mph. I cant seem to figure out where; it could be the belt system or the rear door. I dont have any regrets, so far, but I will talk to my delearship about it.

2nd Opinion - 2010 Nissan Murano
By Idaho Opinion - May 21 - 3:36 pmAfter sitting in the seats of several other vehicles (since writing my first review of the Murano), including the Buick LaCrosse, Chevy Equinox, Ford Edge and Honda Crosstour, I have come to the conclusion that car seats in general are now being made much more firm than in the past. The Muranos seats are better than all of the above. The smooth, quiet ride makes driving this vehicle a pleasure. I still think the front of the seats could be set to allow them to drop closer to the floor. Daytime running-lights would be nice. Driving in stop & go traffic does not produce a very smooth transmission response, with it constantly shifting in and out of 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive.

Love the Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By rdon0548 - May 19 - 11:40 amMy 2005 Nissan Murano has a great engine, especially with the 245 hp and the transmission using belts rather than gears. It is as smooth as silk. The rear visibility took a little getting used to, but it is ok. The dash controls took some work to understand. I love the copper color. We just like the truck, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Very surprised - 2009 Nissan Murano
By Happy - May 19 - 3:43 amI have driven many high end SUVs, from Porsche to Land rovers and this SUV is right up there with them. Sure the Murano may not be as fast or handle as well, but it is not slacking either. It drives like a car! Very comfortable! The Tech is very intuitive, much better than what the germans have to offer. The Ipod integration is simple, and the Bose sound system is amazing! This has true "keyless entry," never have to remove it from my pocket! Bottom line is the price, you get so much for so little, good job, very satisfied!

Great Vehicle! Read my review! - 2009 Nissan Murano
By WAZ - May 15 - 12:13 pmWaited awhile to write in review but first to clarify a couple things from others reviews... memory seats are available(LE model) & you dont have to use premium gas. I definitely agree with the folks that say this is a poor mans Lexus RX! What sold me: It is super quiet inside, very comfortable (Im 62"), roomy front & back, all the goodies like intelligent key, backup camera, etc. I actually did little research on this vehicle before testing it out but once I drove it, it had my attention. I bought SL and added Leather, Tech, Performance Pkgs (& moonroof)... it saved me $3-$4k from buying LE and only diff is nav system, memory seats, rear-heated seats, ipod hookup... not worth 3k to me!
