Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

This is a BAAAAD beast! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Deva - August 13 - 10:00 amI bought my Murano after more research and consideration than should be legal. I drove them ALL (Infiniti FX and QX4, Lexus,Pathfinder and Rover to name only a few). This car is HOT. The comfort level is awesome (had a Lincoln Mark VIII) and Im as happy with it as can be. Everything is high quality, from my black leather seats to the adjustable pedals and memory seating. This puppy MOVES, and a Sunday drive through windy roads with the sunroof open is equal to nothing I can think of.

Awesome machine - 2003 Nissan Murano
By flinlow - August 13 - 10:00 amMy fiancee and I just bought the vehicle three weeks ago. We absolutely love it. It has plenty of room for us and a kid. The power on it is more than enough. The transmission is probably the best feature as it makes the vehicle ride smoothe.

I love this car - 2006 Nissan Murano
By glen - August 12 - 5:16 pmI LOVE this car. Ive driven pickups and cars but this is the first car I have ever really LOVED. Very powerful for an "SUV". I get 21 MPG ave. in town etc. Hwy is about 24 MPG. Doesnt have the range that some cars do but not a problem. Seats very comfortable to me. Seat heaters a bit uneven but I dont use that anyway.

Dont Judge a Book by its Cover - 2004 Nissan Murano
By JTB - August 11 - 11:03 pmLove to drive this SUV. Responsive and good looking however it has become the most unreliable vehicle that I have ever owned. Bearing froze on idler pully causing it to fail, fly apart and damange engine components. Then transfer case for 4WD failed. Two tows in two consecutive months all with 22,000 miles. Add to this the air duct design flaw of being too close to the engine therefore always blowing warm air through the vehicle even when outside temperatures are 70 degrees. Also, when car has more than two people in it the ride feels as if there are no shock absorbors. Even with these deficiencies, I have recommended the car to others.

A pleasure to own - 2003 Nissan Murano
By GeoM - August 6 - 10:00 amBought it a week ago fully loaded. Really stylish and a joy to drive. Love the navigation system and all the features it has. Getting 25 mpg hwy and 18 local. Not bad for a vehicle this size and weight. Roomy and comfortable too.

Slightly above average - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Rocklander - August 6 - 10:00 amDont like CVT transmission at all. Slow acceleration, compared to other SUV like ML 320 or X5. Fuel economy on the highway - 18.5, on average. Rattling doors. Brakes are not adequate to the weight of the vehicle. Long stopping distance.

By Jimmy - August 2 - 8:53 pmWhat a wonderful vehicle. I love everything about it. The ride is great and all of the equipment is just like its big brother the Infiniti FX. Recommend everyone who is looking at a Murano buy it you will not regret the purchase

Not a long term car - too bad - 2005 Nissan Murano
By KLBliss - July 23 - 2:43 amLoved my Murano from day 1 but am learning the hard way it wont go long term without some heavy costs. Currently @53,000 miles. Drivers seat rail collapsed just after warranty expired. Nissan USA forced dealership to cover the repair without cost - it clearly wasnt normal wear & tear. Now electrical systems are acting up - even when not it in use the Bose 6 disc CD player shuffles discs when the ignition is turned off. Front windows roll down when the remote is used to unlock the car. Occasionally, a motor under the passenger seat triggers and whines when I turn the ignition off.
