Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Classy Equipment Hauler - 2006 Nissan Murano
By starpix - October 9 - 11:33 amPerfect vehicle for me, often carrying large photo equipment. Hauls all my long cargo when needed with more secure privacy than most SUVs. When I am not hauling equipment it provides a classy ride and great performance. I felt very safe on rainy and slushy roads thanks to great handling and road holding. All this with good highway mileage. Could use a little more low end torque.

LOVE MY 2015 MURANO PLATINUM!!!! - 2015 Nissan Murano
By jvmarcus - October 5 - 9:52 pmI had a 2003 Nissan Murano, a model I fell in love with at first sight and test drive. I loved the quirky styling and overall feel of it. My 2003 was starting to cost more in repairs each time I took it in, so I started looking around for the next car to fall in love with. I hated the next generations of Muranos. In December I received an email from Nissan to check out the 2015 Murano. Fell in love with my first glimpse and resolved if the test drive was as good as the first impression, this would be my next car. My old Murano went back in for service and we decided to buy a new car. The 2015 Murano looked as good, if not better in real life and the test drive was the closer.

Great SUV - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Luis - October 3 - 8:23 pmGreat looking vehicle with an engine that will make you proud! Getting roughly 19 MPG while driving in NYC. Highway mileage has peaked at roughly 22-23 MPG. Cant complain about those numbers when you get that the power you do.

Very impressed, Was strong GM person. - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Don - October 3 - 9:23 amHave driven this murano 102,000 miles, with (o) problems. Will be three years old in March. Changed oil and filter at 5000 miles, rotated tires every 10,000 miles plus visual checks such as cabin filters etc. Looking forward to a another 100,000 miles of care free ride. Suggestion: New Murano, smoother & quiter ride.

Very happy with my purchase - 2003 Nissan Murano
By RK2003 - September 30 - 10:00 amI test-drove virtually all SUVs in the Muranos price range and theur is literally nothing that comes close to its handling, performance and looks. Has many of the benefits of the SUV in a much more driveable package. And personally, I think that the styling is both radical and beautiful. Its one of the prettiest vehicles on the road today and makes every other SUV look like a big box on wheels. Only downside is the ride can be a bit harsh on bad roads. It transmits road problems much the way a sports car does. The Murano gets more than its share of complements from stragers

5000 Miles and very few problems - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Dot - September 30 - 10:00 amI purchased my Murano in Jan of this year, and have really enjoyed driving it, not to mention all of the looks from others who are trying to figure out what it is... I keep discovering new things that didnt quite register with me when they went over it at sale time. The Murano has great pickup when accelerating, you dont feel the downshifts with the CVT, and for a family of four, it is quite comfortable. The appearance of the cargo area is deceiving, it is quite large but doesnt look like it until you open the rear hatch.

Has it all and more - 2007 Nissan Murano
By bun-girl - September 30 - 1:00 amLove this SUV. I traded my BMW 330 for this. I have no regrets. This little hot number is sporty, luxurious with leather and bose stereo and thats just a few extras. Smooth ride, handles great, fun to drive on tight curvy roads. Gas mileage is average. I usually am never satisfied with any car but my little Murano is a winner. I will have it for a long time.

Love My Murano. - 2010 Nissan Murano
By John Parker - September 27 - 2:56 pmLove my Murano so far. Only bought it 2 weeks ago. Love the smooth acceleration. I live in Texas hill country and the Murano glides over the hills. Love the quiet & smooth ride and the comfortable leather seats. First tank of fuel was 20.5, which is not the greatest, but I didnt expect much more. So far am using mid-grade gas, although premium is recommended. I had a 2003 Infiniti G-35 a few years ago and regular fuel worked in it OK, & basically its the same engine. I traded in two Hondas (CR-V & Civic Hybrid) for the 1 Murano. This of course, head & shoulders above either of those vehicles.
