Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • Great Drive - 2003 Nissan Murano

I hadnt bought a new vehicle in 13 years when I purchased my Murano. I drove every midsized and crossover vehicle on the market and none really came close particularly in handling! I really did my homework before this purchase and it has paid off. It is the most vehicle for the money in its class.

  • I love this car........................ - 2006 Nissan Murano

I had Dodge Caravan for past 3 years and i had the worst experience. Anyway, we decided to trade in for a Japanese car. After going through the list, we decided to buy Nissan Murano. I had a car for a week and i could only say how much i love the car. First of all i give a lot of credit to the Nissan because I think they really done their homework well. From exterior to interior i could only be amazed by what they have done... Best of all i only bought Murano S AWD which is the base model and this was enough to turn my and others head. I could only imagine what its like to have the upper model......

Very happy with my Murano purchase. It has all the features of similiar suvs with a cost of anywhere between $5- 7,000 less. It has better gas mileage than most as well.

This is a fun car to drive; it handles quickly whether acceleration onto highway or stopping. The drivers seat is very comfortable and the adjustable gas pedal ideal. The attention to detail by the designers make this a female friendly car. The flip down back seat handle very easy to use. The trunk space very large.

SUV looks but rides like a powerful sedan. Gas mileage is decent. Sunroof has preset open position. Roomy enough to hold my 3 kids in the back.

  • Noisy Vehicle - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

Ive owned this vehicle since february of 2004, and have experienced a very noisy interior. I believe this noise is emulating from the tires. The dealership in sarasota refuses to accept the fact that there is a problem with this noise. I believe the tire size makes this car too tight in the corner as it sits too high, with heavy body lean. Nissan tried to get into two categories of vehicles by having a station wagon and suv merge. This car isnt a good towing vehicle nor is it comfortable for me to drive. My only saving grace is that my wife drives this as a daily driver. I hope to have some sort of satisfaction with dealer this weekend with tires.

  • Last of the 2007s - 2007 Nissan Murano

Neither my wife or myself liked the 2009 for interior space or ergonomics so we bought a new 2007 loaded SL in Merlot with chrome wheels. Love it. Roomy because they resisted putting three rows of seats in. At low speeds the trans seems to drag the car down rather than freewheel like it does at high speeds. Mileage adequate at this point but switching to Mobil one synthetic seems to be good for two MPG in these cars so Ill switch after break in. The Bose is mediocre but then, Im an audio snob. No other complaints. My wife prefers my car to her 2000 RX 300.Get compliments on the cars beauty. Good road handling with touring suspension. We like it.

  • More filling, looks great. - 2005 Nissan Murano

Have owned other suvs but the murano has them beat. Really like the exterior and interior design. Handles great and rides well for an suv, although takes the bumps a little hard.Cvt takes some getting use to. Overall happy with car, but gas mileage is terrible, getting 13.3 mpg in city and 13.5 on highway. Car has only 3,500 miles, hopefully I will get a lot closer to listed mileage on sticker when broken in.

  • Beautiful car ---key problems - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

Im thrilled with my murano. Ride is smooth and it is easy to manuver. I get lots of compliments. Bought the car used and got a good deal. Back seat ride is bumpy. Only problem is the key. I have had to take it to the dealer 4 times to get the key reprogrammed. The car at times does not start, it will turn over and eventually start. Dealer states key is sensitive and should not be kept next to magnetic items (i.e. credit cards, etc).

  • Great car, some drawbacks - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

Good looking peppy car/suv. Interior is very comfortable and everything is easy to get at. Gas mileage is nowhere near that advertised, but then again, no car ever is. The power drivers seat tends to move slightly when you re-enter the car and first sit down. The front a/c adapter is tough to plug into. Theres also a front storage area under the radio that is tough to get at. Youll also forgot you put anything there. Its fun to drive, handles well and provides good visibility, except through the small rear windows.
