Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

CVT is great! - 2007 Nissan Murano
By pavisp - January 22 - 3:14 amThe CVT gives a smooth and powerful acceleration. Ive never had any problem passing another vehicle quickly. The SE was rated as giving a choppy ride due to the CVT, but I dont feel it that way. Its not obvious at all when the transmission changes gears. We travel alot and have over 65,000 miles on our 2007.

Drive it and you will buy it - 2006 Nissan Murano
By Cynthia - January 18 - 5:06 amIve always wanted this vehicle the first I saw it. Now that I own it, I will never drive anything else. I get a lot of compliments about this car. This car is quiet, exceptionally smooth and technological. The CVT is amazing, no shift shock. It handles well, is very roomy inside and comfortable on long trips. The DVD is a nice touch in the center console.

Murano 07 - 2007 Nissan Murano
By Phillip - January 17 - 6:00 amI drove all the other SUVs that I could find that interested me. This one won me over hands down to all the rest. I bought the SL loaded with everything except the navigation system. I was impressed with the quality and detail that Nissan puts into their cars. This vehicle is very well made and just a great ride, etc. If you have not given this car a test drive you should do yourself a favor and drive this one before you buy.

If youre thinking of buying one.. DONT! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By DONT BUY ONE!!!!!!! - January 16 - 9:33 amWe bought a used 2003 Murano trusting there were no problems and less than a month after buying (74K miles)the accelerator would stall for 3-5 seconds and after our research we found the transmission was going out! Even under warranty Murdock Hyundai would NOT work with us in an equal trade or just fixing the transmission! I will never buy again or ever suggest to someone to buy a Murano! They look cool and sporty, but the entire car will break down on you sooner than said. Any bumps you go on etc, it feels like the steering wheel is coming off and that your tires are popping.... It is just overall a HORRIBLE make of a car!!!! DONT BUY ONE.... YOULL REGRET IT!!!!

Love my Murano! - 2004 Nissan Murano
By prissyinms - January 13 - 10:00 amAll I can say is WOW! This is a fun to drive practial everyday run around town or were going on vacation vechile. Gas milage could be a little better but that probably has something to do with that it is so fun to drive I am always going! Roomy, comfortable, user friendly driver instruments, good visual ability while driving. No sissy vechile, has lots of get up and go. Great sound system! Love the dual climate control. And the back seats fold flat for hauling stuff. The cargo area is actually very roomy and extremely adaquate for most anyone.

wonderful surprise - 2007 Nissan Murano
By Dennis - January 11 - 1:50 amI have no idea why Edmunds dislikes the CVT. Maybe Nissan fixed its short- comings since the early days. I find it untra-smooth and responsive at any speed. Neither do I understand their so-so review of Muranos Bose stereo. Im a bit of an audiophile and cant imagine anything sounding any better. First 4 tanks Im getting 20+ mpg mostly around town. It is amazingly quiet. I cant figure out why its not at the top of everyones list.

Brief thoughts on my Murano - 2016 Nissan Murano
By Jim Seaberg - January 3 - 10:49 amThis Murano replaced a 2006 Honda Odyssey, and while I thought the Odyssey was comfortable and an OK ride, even in the rear, this Murano beats it hands-down. The gas mileage, combined with the size of the gas tank, gives about 425 mile endurance/tank, and the seats and driver position make that distance almost effortless. The interior quality and trim, along with the options and tech, make this vehicle close to a luxury vehicle. We now have about 3,000 miles on it, and are still discovering things (primarily tech related) that the vehicle does. Initially, it took me some time to get used to the somewhat reduced visibility caused by the high seat backs and the rear pillars, but have discovered that its a non-issue. I have not experienced the emergency braking assistance, but the blind spot alerts and the cross-traffic warning system are a great addition to the vehicle. My wife loves the intelligent cruise control; I havent decided on that feature yet. I wish there was an audible indication when it activates and slows down the vehicles speed; it is so subtle that I have looked down to realize that we are traveling 10 mph below the limit. :D All in all, I love the Murano and think its a great value!

I love my Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Scott - January 3 - 3:20 amI have had my Murano just over a year now. I truly love this car. It is very comfortable inside and easy to drive. The CVT makes it drive like it is on Skis. Everyone that rides in my car comments on how comfortable the seats are and how refined the interior is.
