Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Dynomite vehicle. Refined like the high- priced German Brands. Great long distance cruser. No regrets.

  • Good Price and Quality - 2007 Nissan Murano

Drives exceptionally well, smoothe ride, fun controls, great features inside and out. Feels like a strong, well-made vehicle.

  • Superb midsize SUV - 2005 Nissan Murano

Bought our new Nissan Murano S AWD about 3 weeks ago. Came with the power seat package and few other extras for $27k. We test drove several other SUVs including the Liberty, Durango, Tribeca, Explorer, 4 runner, etc and although the Murano offers no third row, it is very comfortable, easily outhandles all of the other SUVs by a wide margin, offer seamless and very strong acceleration with the superb CVT transmission and gets respectable mpg. Currently which over the first 1k miles is at 22mpg. Not bad for a 250hp SUV. Although this SUV is not made for off road activity, its AWD is well suited for slick/wet roads. Best vehicle I have personally owned to date.

Smooth, comfortable and stylish - whats not to like! So far, no build quality issues (like rattles, etc.). Gas mileage is a bit less than advertised - about 18.5 mpg overall in 6 months.

  • Love it so far - 2009 Nissan Murano

Traded in a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder LE for this Mo and we love it! Very nicely detailed inside and out, handles much better than my Pathfinder. Definitely better gas mileage than the PF even though the Murano seems to be more peppy. Must be the extra HP for this year. We drove the 2007 and the 09 is a much better car: more power, smoother CVT, noticeably quieter and handled better too. Back seats are mucho better than the PF too--hated them on the PF for being so uncomfortable. Im glad that Nissan didnt cave in and put in a 3rd row seat to mess up the back cargo area. Good on them for holding their ground. Buy it--you wont be disappointed!

  • Great Crossover - 2004 Nissan Murano

What caught my eye was its exterior appearance. I was sold when I got into it and test drove it. Ive had it for almost 1 year and I love it. We also own a 2002 Cadillac Deville DHS which we love. The Murano although much higher is almost an equal to our Caddy on the highway. Road handling is great, the acceleration is wonderful, its comfortable, it has very good cargo space. Its easy to get in & out, has great features.

Fun to drive, mostly a well thought out vehicle. Would be nice to have auto driving lights and wipers that you can easily clean around. Love the remote entry, inteligent key feature. The CVT transmission is nice, seems to be plenty of power and very smooth. Being a truck / SUV guy, this is as close to a "car" as I want to get. Has been a good purchase.
