Overview & Reviews
For 2005, the Murano receives a rollover sensor for the side curtain airbags, and a new S model with fewer features and a lower price. New options packages and an Intelligent Key entry and ignition system are newly available.
- Sharp handling, strong standard engine, comfortable and practical interior.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat.

Fun to drive - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Andrey - July 8 - 7:46 amI am 63, my wife is 53 and we both feel very comfortable behind the Muranos wheel. Performance is great, great brakes, flat cornering. Although suspention is tight, ride is smooth. Bunch of space for rear-seet passengers. My Murano is still breaking-in, so MPG is not 20, but is improving with every tank (from 14.6 to 17.6, city driving)

happy, comfy, but tired of problems - 2005 Nissan Murano
By buckeye - June 29 - 12:03 amSUV rides well and handles well. Fun to drive. Cargo is adequate, but not as much as it looks. Problems with front seat (drivers). Seat motor broke within 1 month, replaced under warranty...since then seat trim keeps coming off, now back of seat panel is loose. Air bag sensor started flashing at 11,000 miles, had to wait three weeks for part to arrive. Also, fuel tank shield recall. Reliability and workmenship not as good as our Hondas and previous Maximas and Pathfinders.

2005 Murano SL AWD - 2005 Nissan Murano
By jfg1022 - June 14 - 8:36 pmI previously leased 2 Ford Explorers and with the lease on my Explorer about to end I decided that I wanted to purchase something reliable and smaller than an Explorer since I live in NYC and have to find parking every night. The Murano is perfect because its roomy inside (It actually has alot more passenger legroom in the backseat than the Explorer) but its not an overgrown SUV. The Murano has a car like drive and its easy to handle. Im so glad I decided to purchase the Murano and its definitely something that my family can grow into.

We made right vehicle choice - 2005 Nissan Murano
By DaveM - June 7 - 5:26 amJust purchased 05 Murano SL AWD after ext research/test drives, in Volvo/Lexus/Honda/Subaru 06 Tribeca. Vehicle so far beyond expectations after having for approx 2 weeks. Amenities SUPER, ride comfort exceeds others, handling supurb, no exterior noise, gas mileage avg 20.9, not had on trip yet to see mileage. For AWD SUV were thrilled with mpg so far, will get better as engine loosens. HIGHLY suggest buying this SUV, if you have couple kids, think it over 1st, perfect for 2 people and family of 3-4 tops. Test drove the above 4 seperate times before our final decision. For the $$$ this SUV a HIDDEN TREASURE, we owned Honda/Toyota SUVs. Great product Nissan! Dave & Deb from NE Pa

Change the Oil and 4 New Tires - 2005 Nissan Murano
By 280zx - May 31 - 2:43 amI have had a 2004 AWD LS for 13 months and 12,000 miles. Expect to buy new tires--often. Either the Murano has alignment problems or the 18" Goodyear LS tires are junk--and I couldnt find another tire manufacturer that makes the same size tires. I bought my first tire at 11,000 miles and will replace the others in a few thousand miles. This SUV: will lock you out of the car when it feels like it, wheel hops over highway divider strips, has power, is comfortable, looks different, generally handles well, does not rattle unless you leave the seatbelts unlocked, and can get over 20 mpg. I have owned 4 Nissans but will not buy another because of the tires stocked on the Murano.

05 Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Kenneth Mueller - April 2 - 11:40 amI bought the Murano for my wife for Christmas of 04. The Murano has been perfect for her and our grandson. The ease of use and the way the back doors open wide makes it so nice.

Wish I could start over - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Denise - March 21 - 11:43 amBought new in 2005 and after 3 years was angry about purchase. How many recalls can one vehicle have?? So many interior rattles that I cant hear myself think. Squeaking brakes dont help much. When the exterior door handle FELL OFF, after 5 years ownership,I gave in. I thought Id pass this expensive vehicle on to my daughter, but love her too much.

Nissan murano SE 05 - 2005 Nissan Murano
By UNKNOWN 05 - March 20 - 12:30 pmI love this car but a 53,000 miles driver seat is not working, the repair is more than $1,000.00; same thing happened with the power window; only 3 windows are working and I need to get the master power window, and brakes have some sound, I went to the mechanic and he told me that they are fine. So now I dont know where this sound is coming from. w
