Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Good car - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Boater Buddy - July 3 - 10:00 amThis Murano is one of 3 cars I have now- - a Solara convertible, a Lexus ES 300 and the Murano. It is the favorite of both my wife and me. I traded a Chrysler Town and Country for it and have no interest in going back. The mini van, with less than 30000 miles on it, spent too much time in the shop. It is a really feel good vehicle

I bought TWO!! - 2005 Nissan Murano
By pulgar - July 3 - 9:53 amI drive all over the South Western U.S. and bought an 04 last August. I liked it so much I bought another and gave the first to my son who was moving to NorCal. New smart key and rearview camera for backing are nice additions on 05.

Poor navigation - 2016 Nissan Murano
By Gerald Davis - July 1 - 4:37 amThe navigation is way off for distance and time. example trip of 266 miles at 4 hours 49 minutes, the navigation shows 324 miles and 5 hours 55 minutes. We called Nissan Customer Affairs, they repeated several times " the system functions as designed" I said your design is incorrect with being this far off. Ask for a supervisor, was told there is no one else to talk to. This is only one of several times we checked all are off. The dealer said there is nothing they can do. you would think a $40,000 vehicle would have an accurate navigation system. My 10 year old Garmin is more accurate that I use in my pickup

Another bad transmission in Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Colleen - June 29 - 4:26 pmI purchased my 2003 Murano AWD used with 24k miles on it. Like other reviewers, my transmission just failed at 88,319 miles, and it is costing me $6000 to have a reconditioned transmission put in. Nissan customer service said that they were not going to help me with the repair. I am very disappointed with Nissans quality and customer service, and I will not buy another. Also, the CD player stopped functioning at around 75k, and it cost over $450 to fix. The radio shop told me that they saw many Muranos with that problem.

Still Happy - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Post SP311 - June 27 - 7:50 pmMy 2003 Murano SL is my forth Nissan/Datsun vehicle 24 years. It is by far my favorite. Granted it has the most creature comforts, but my satisfaction goes well beyond. After 3 years, no big surprises, and my dealership has taken good care of me.

Murano Test Drive - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Murano - June 24 - 2:00 amI test drove a fully loaded Murano and OH BOY!! it was fun to drive...But the build quality of the interior material is not good. and the grill in the front may rattle as the vehicle gets old. Other than that this is a fun "SUV" to drive

Murano Rocks! - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Judy - June 23 - 10:16 amOutstanding vehicle! This is the most wonderful car Ive ever owned; drives like a sports car but can handle hauling, too. Ive towed jet skis w/ the tow package and had no trouble at all. Extremely nice on long road trips. The seats offer multi-positions for comfort. You wont go wrong if you buy or lease a Murano!

By Cleopatra - June 20 - 9:23 amI went from a over priced Lincoln Navigator, to this luxurious suv. The Murano has lots of horse power and a nice sleek interior and exterior design...What more can you ask for!
