Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • Im loving this Car! - 2004 Nissan Murano

When I first saw a Murano cruising down the freeway I knew I wanted to own one. The Murano mixes class and sportiness all in one package. It almost resembles the Lexus RX type SUVs (My first choice) but cost much less. I use to drive a 2000 Eclipse but thanks to a timing belt problem I ended up driving my very first SUV, my Nissan Murano 04. It drives like a dream and the interior is so comfortable it almost feels like Im driving a Lexus. Im loving this car! I only had a problem with the drivers window automaticaly opening half way after I close it all the way up. This happened on my first day. I immediately brought it to my dealer were it was fixed asap.Did anybody else have this problem?

  • so far, so good - 2006 Nissan Murano

After 1000 km, my Murano has lived up to the reviews. The drive position is very comfortable and it is a dream to drive. The new color, Merlot, is a real plus. There is not a single rattle, buzz or hum and the CVT transmission is first rate.

  • Nice Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

This is the best vehicle Ive ever owned. I had a Maxima, Rodeo, 626, RX7, B2200, 68 T-Bird. The performance and handling are great, but the comfort is outstanding. I love driving it. The only concern Ive ever had was when making a tight turn at slow speeds the steering wheel seemed to tighten up.

  • best car ever - 2004 Nissan Murano

This car is my favorite car. I have had Volvos, Acuras, Accords, Camrys, and the dreaded Jeep Cherokee (what was i thinking), but this car tops all, even the Volvos. Although my love for Volvo still runs deep, this car is a lot more fun to drive!

I love this car its fun to drive and everything, but there is one problem it costs me a lot of money for gas. in the city the mileage is about 13-14 MPG and in the city highway and highways like Belt parkway its 16 mpg one time on i 95 i reached 32 mpg but i had to use cruise control on 50 mph

  • Lovn It! - 2004 Nissan Murano

Ive only had my Murano for 8 days but I am LOVN IT! I finally had to donate my 1987 Nissan Pulsar to Goodwill. Having that for 17 years and getting 217,000+ miles out of it convinced me to get another Nissan. Im spoiled already! Family, friends and co-workers love it also. Co-worker has a Durango which was priced the same as the Murano. She says I got a much better deal; I have more options/gadgets on mine than hers. Another friend has the Bose system in her Mazda RX-8. Hers does not sound nearly as good as mine!

  • CVT - 2003 Nissan Murano

My husband and I purchased the 03 Murano with 80,000 miles on it. It was totally clean and very comfortable for my 65", 300 lb husband to sit in and to drive. Just 2 days after we purchased it, we realized why it had been traded in. The CVT was not engaging when in stop and go traffic in the heat. Thank goodness we had purchased the warrantee! We took the car to the local Nissan dealer, they tested it and said we needed a new transmission. So, for the $100 deductable, we were provided with a new transmission and a rental car while it was being installed. I am grateful to this web site. I had read the reviews and as soon as the car acted up, I knew what the problem was. Thanks!

  • Poor choice - 2003 Nissan Murano

We bought our 2003 Murano AWD because it lookes great and we had liked our Maxima. What a mistake - luckily we negotiated a free extended warranty into our deal besause: the motor mounts failed at 35K, the mount control sensor failed as well,TWO different oxygen sensors failed at different times leaving my wife and children stranded, the front strut bearings failed at 60k, the rear lift latch failed at 61K, wiring leading to the mass air flow sensor failed, causing the sensor to also fail - leaving us stranded AGAIN,even the sunshades needed to be replaced as the spring tensioner failed. The total cost of these repairs would have been over $5500 if I had to pay for them!I wont buy another!

  • Impressed with 2005 Murano SL - 2005 Nissan Murano

This is an impressive performer and a must-have vehicle for those who are interested in a mid-sized SUV. This one of the nicest Nissans that I have had the privilege to own and I plan to take good care of this gem. I hope to learn more about the many new features that this car has to offer. Now is the time for all prospective buyers to take the plunge, as the sales are on and take advantage now.

  • Spring Break Fun! - 2003 Nissan Murano

I picked my Sheer Silver/Charcoal Murano up on 3/21 & its been a blast everyday! I get daily complements & my wife even wants to drive it over her 2001 Surrano Red Spyder. I am not the type of person that gives out 10s very often, but I havent felt this good since I bought my new Cutlass after high school. Note: I still have that 79 for sunny Sundays. I love cars & this one has all the bases covered. I chose this over an MDX & saved $10k in the process. My friends cant believe the 19 city mpg Im getting & the engine isnt even broken in yet
