Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

I just brought my murano in May of 2003. I love it!!! Everything about the Murano is awesome. If you are thinking about buying a vehicle and you can afford the Murano, dont hesitate. You will love it as much as I do and everyone else who has the Murano.

I read all the reviews here before I bought it. A great resource. I truly love the Murano. It is fun to drive. I love the style, I get more compliments and head turning as I go by. It handles great, could be a bit smoother but this is the SE and it still is a SUV. Great power and for the money I cant think of a better vehicle. It looks and feels like a luxury SUV for $5-$10K less than the usual suspects. Curious? I paid invoice and got them to waive the marketing adjustment. Sales Rep sold one the week before to a couple who "had done their homework" for $2k more. Edmunds TMV was also $2K more than I paid. Sticker $35,384 - paid $31,800. Any fedback?

I have been researching SUVs for the past year and a half and finally decided that the Murano was the best choice for me. I love the sleek design of the exterior. I wanted something with plenty of power, comfort, reliability and great resale value. I think the Murano meets all of my expectations! It is replacing a 2000 GMC sierra X-cab 4x4 pickup. The murano has more zip than the truck had. I only have about 600 miles on it so far and am getting 21 mpg in mixed driving. Im sure Ill get the 24 on the highway that they suggest. I love the CVT. It is always at the perfect rpm for the condition. The bose stereo is not as awesome as I thought it would be, but it sounds pretty good. Im very pleased.

The 1st suv that really rides like a sedan. Great pick up in town and on Hwy. We avg. about 27 mpg Hwy and 20 mpg city. ( After breakin period of 1500 miles.) Merlot was the color of choice. Very eye catching vehicle. Great for couple who want style performance and comfort. We have the S model, which come with alot of standard equipment. The safty rating is awesome it has front and side curtain airbag (Big Plus for us, we have kids.) Another thing great interior space for adults front or rear. My wife and I have enough leg space in the front know we have two kids in carseats behind us. And they even have leg space to spare. The AWD is great kick in when needed nough said. Iloveit, but its her

  • Disappointment for a High Dollar Vehicle - 2009 Nissan Murano

Ive owned the Murano LE for approximately 26 months and have not had any major problems with it except maintenance. Replacement of the air filter was $75.00 and I could not believe this cost. Tires only lasted 14,500 miles and I could not find replacement 20 inch tires for it. Dealer price for these tires was $350.00 each. Lots of intermittent electrical problems with the tail gate being found open in the morning when I came out of the house, my radio and almost all of my other electronic devices would die on occasion and then come back. Dealer could not find anything. Goes fine in up to 4 inches of snow but after that nothing. Being traded in shortly on an american vehicle.

I fell in love the very first time I saw it. At first I thought it would be a very expensive SUV for the sylish features it has, but when I saw the pricetag I was blown away and I called "dibs!" This vehichle is one of the best interiors as well as exteriors that I have seen and it looks very classy and is a smooooooth ride. The CVT is awesome and still has get up and go power! The rear seat has an enormous amount of room and is very comfortable with the reclining seats. I am amazed by all of the standard features that would normally cost extra in other vehichles. Way to go Nissan!

  • For the non-boring personality - 2006 Nissan Murano

After driving quite a few other makes ranging from the domestics to Toyota and Lexus, the Murano seemed to give the most features for the buck without that conservative blah feeling. I have always been a fan of Nissans engines (a mechanic friend considers them "bulletproof"),though this is the first one I have owned- I am not dissappointed. The CVT transmission is shiftless and doesnt quite give the thrust of the same engine in other applications, but I feel the Murano is still one of quickest of the vehicles I drove. The safety is there for my wife and daughter but most of the SUVs seemed generally well equiped in that respect.

Recently turned in our 2005 Murano. My wife actually cried in the salesmans room when we turned in her 2005 leased murano. That car was the best ever. Never a bad moment with the exception for a coil going bad, and the dealership kept for 5 weeks trying to find the culprit. They gave us a loaner which says loads for them. Purchased a new Murano S series and am impressed to the utmost. Had leather seats installed and it looks and rides fantastic. Great acceleration and ride. Not many of the bells and whistles on this one but still a fantastic vehicle. Anyone who is considering one should look at the Murano. Compared it to the others and still came back to the best.

I wrote before but I still become more impressed with it every time I drive it. Very responsive steering - braking dependable. Rides as good if not better than the Avalons I had. Leather is a nice soft leather. During bright daylight the instrument panels are easy to read unlike from my trade in- 2006 RAV 4 and a 2003 Highlander. For the money this is a great buy. I thought a Lexus might be in my future at some point - maybe not.
