  • Great premium level sporty family sedan - 2016 Nissan Maxima

If youre looking for a premium family sedan with cabin space that can fit 5 people comfortably, look elsewhere. If youre looking for a premium family sedan with performance, sporty feel, AND fits 4 people comfortably, this is THE CAR! Materials used and the technologies included with the Platinum trim in this car are top-notch with this price tag. When you sit inside the car, it really feels more like a sports car than a traditional sedan because of the interior design, this is probably why Nissan wants to label it as a 4DSC (4 doors sports car). Handling is great for a car thats between mid-full size. Acceleration is plenty with 300HP and 261lb-ft torque. Some people complain about the CVT installed in this car, however those are also enthusiasts who should be driving sticks instead of auto if they really want that "feel" of the engine. IMO, CVT in this car is not bad at all and Id say 95% of the population wont even notice the difference if they werent told about the CVT. With the CVT, my best fuel economy so far is 34mpg highway and averaging 24mpg in city. Safety features that come with this car and especially in Platinum trim are great to have. My car insurance went down 40% switching from a 2011 Camry to this car. Insurance agent told me thats probably because of the safety features and safety ratings from the new Maxima. If youre considering this car, Id suggest watching some review and comparison videos on Youtube.

This is my fourth Maxima and will be my last. Have never been so disappointed in my life! Pat Peck in Gulfport lied; no more vehicles from them!! Hate this car.

I planned on waiting for the 2016 Honda Accord Touring to arrive, but fell in love with the Maxima as soon as I saw it. This is a beautiful car with plenty of technology inside and out. They spent a lot of time redesigning this car and hit the nail on the head on almost everything. The only real complaint I have is leg room. Im a big guy (61", 235 lbs) and like more room than the Maxima offers, but Im not uncomfortable at all. I got a good price, because I used Truecar to get a good price. I paid $37,500 for the Platinum model.

  • If you love to drive - 2016 Nissan Maxima

This is a drivers car. Great pickup and engine growl in sport mode. Its a heavy car so handling is good but not great. During a 4 hour drive the seats stayed wonderfully comfortable. Firm and supportive. While at a stop light, several people have told me how great the car looks. So far very satisfied.

I was considering the 2016 BMW 328xi. Who wouldnt its a BMW. After doing some serious research the 328xi base model didnt match up to the 2016 Maxima SR. After adding all the bells and whistles I wanted to the 328xi the price tag went from sub 40k to mid 50k. The 2016 Maxima SR was my choice. All those bells and whistles I wanted came standard for a price tag of sub 40k. Navigation, premium sound system, back up camera, sonar sensors, heated seats, heated steering wheel, really cool 19" wheels oh dont forget the 300 horses that make those 19s look even better on the road. Thats just to name a few. Im super excited I decide to go with the Maxima it has everything I wanted plus a few extras. If your looking for more BANG for your BUCK consider the Maxima. Cuddos to Nissan on a job well done!!!

  • Great looking car but with issues - 2016 Nissan Maxima
    By -

I am only 6 tall but I had issues with the extra thick door at the knee level and the extremley high console at the knee level. This caused my knees to be way too close together making it an uncomfortable driving position for me. Also the gas pedal it too far to the right-not a natural position at all. The worst part of the Platinum model is the sound system. Very flat, very tinny, cheap sound! We have owned 2 Maximas and 2 Infinitis and all had Bose sound systems in them. Right away, we realized that the current sound system in the 2016 Platinum is very-very inferior to all of our previous Bose car systems. Our Toyota van sounds much better and it is just the basic sound system, not a Bose. We tried all sources of music and did all adjustments you can make and the sound system has very weak bass and just a very plain sound. This caused us to not buy the car actually. Love the look and performance but being uncomfortable for me to drive and weak sounding sound. Very sad but true

  • Traded my 2014 Mustang for the all new Maxima!!! - 2016 Nissan Maxima
    By -

This car is awesome inside and out! I wasnt really looking to trade out of my beloved 2014 Mustang until I saw this car online. Then I went for a test drive and was blown away. I had to have it! Nissan has done a superior job with redesigning the 2016 Maxima! For those of you in need of a sedan at a great price that comes well equipped in all models and yet still gives a sporty look and feel, this is the one to buy!

  • What in the world did I pay for - 2016 Nissan Maxima

Yes, I know you dont buy a car just for all of the bells and whistles. Doesnt that add to the decision of your purchase? I traded a 2012 maxima for this beautiful 2016 Platinum. There are a few things that really bother me about the vehicle like stupid visors. They look like they were forgotten about and just had some thrown on. The curves on the outside of the visor are just in the right spot for the sun to come through when you use the slide feature. In the previous Maxima there was a sliding extender that worked very well for blocking out the blinding sun. That did not need to be changed. I also had a six disc CD changer that also included a feature that I could record my CDs and save them right there in the system. Now I have just one disc option . That did not need to change. Now the thing that really makes me upset with my purchase is the fact that all of the cool apps I was told about are not available on the TOP OF THE LINE, FULLY LOADED 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA I PAID OVER 42, 000 FOR. Talk about buyers remorse. if the little small things I thought I was getting could change then this would be the perfect vehicle. If I could turn back the clock a few months I would have kept my 2012 and waited until these stupid things were fixed. On top of all of that, there was a recall already on the fuel system/gas tank and after starting the vehicle there is an annoying clicking when I apply the break that I was told was something that I would just have to live with.

Great looking car with eye catching design. A feel of quality inside and out. A little to be desired in the sensing features if you have been used to them from another vehicle. You will get a kick out of the acceleration in sport mode.
