This Year's Model Updates:

The Maxima has been fully redesigned for 2004. It now rides on the same underpinnings as the well-received Nissan Altima. This year's Maxima is longer, wider and more powerful than the previous version.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.
Cons:
  • Some small, oddly arranged controls.

  • Thank You Lexus! - 2004 Nissan Maxima

If it were not for the Lexus GS series cars, this new Maxima design would not have happened. Its about time Nissan got rid of that solid rear axle... what a waste it was, this new car has a great new rear ind. suspension. My wife wanted the car... Nissan needs to try to apply what VW uses to ELIMINATE the torque steer! Wow... way too much for me... plus the NEW grill with that buck-tooth center is very ugly... reminds me of the 70s Oldsmobiles... The fake suede is getting dirty already... and the plastic interior door handles are already taking a beating from the kids.. hope they last beyond 2 years! Love the Nav... LOVE the engine...

The 04 Maxima is an incredible car. Ive only had it for a few months and cannot even count how many heads Ive turned driving this vechile on the street. The unbelievable part is when I have BMWs, and Lexus driving staring at my Maxima. Wow . . . if that doesnt say anything, nothing well. Performance great as always, confortable, and the Boss system is awesome. All around a car thats fun to drive and stylish enough to turn heads on the road.

I previously drove an Infiniti J30 and was skeptical as to whether I could replace it with any car. The Nissan is great to drive! I love the radio on the steering wheel and the faux suede accents on the interior. The dash is clean and streamlined, unlike other cars with BIG dials. I selected the regular sunroof (a must for me) over the roof windows and I am very happy with everything. I test drove alot of cars including Infiniti, Acura and Mercedes and quickly selected the Maxima. The engine power is outstanding and highway driving is a breeze.

  • Awsome Car - 2004 Nissan Maxima

I had a 2001 and liked it allot, but Nissan has out-done themselves with this one. I drove the G-35 first and then checked out the Max. I honestly could not find 1 thing I liked better about the G-35. After a month of owning it I still find myself thinking of excuses to run to the store and take the car out for a spin. I still have a blast driving this car. Turns allot of heads, and when you put your foot down... VRRRROOOOOOM!
