This Year's Model Updates:

Since the Maxima was updated last year and is scheduled for a redesign in 2004, there are no major changes in store for the family sedan in 2003. There's a Titanium Edition package available for the SE and side airbags are now standard on GLEs.

Pros:
  • Impressively powerful V6 engine, sports car moves, availability of premium features, plenty of room for five adults.
Cons:
  • High price, rough ride quality with SE suspension.

I love to drive my Maxima..it is fun and fast. Whenever I feel like whinning about my carpayment, I just jump in my "baby", crank up the stereo and drive around town and all my payment shock goes out the window!!! It is all worthwhile. My friends are tired about hearing how much I love it. :-)

  • two words the best - 2003 Nissan Maxima

i had a 2000 altima se with leather and every option that was offered and it was awesome the only thing that was keeping me from being 100% satisfied was the lack of power in the 4 cl which at 155 hp is damn good for a 4cl but not enough for me so i got a 03 maxima se and i havent looked back. it is better than i ever dreamed power, smooth ride, and quality. i havent gotten the gas milage that was promised but.... its probly cause i cant keep my foot off the gas pedal! its an absolute blast to drive sometimes i sneak out at night after my wife is asleep and go blasting down the highway or local roads when theres no traffic i hate traffic!

  • Like a top - 2003 Nissan Maxima

This is my 5th Maxima, each held for three years and an average 25,000 miles per year. No maintenance problems other than brakes and tires have been experienced. Just routine oil changes at 3-5k miles. The ONLY car found that does NOT give me a back ache after 2 plus hours of driving. Runs like a top.

Last vehicle 96 Maxima. B4 choosing I test drove several other cars in its class & almost bought Subaru Legacy for practical (traction on snowy roads) reasons, but was 2 depresd thinking about giving up my 96 Maxima, so only solution was 2 buy another 1. NO REGRETS! Just as smoooth as can b! I dont know why Edmunds sd the SE had a rough ride?? Feels like Im driving a luxury car. Awesome sporty-looking car, love looks of head&tail lights. Nice looking interior dash&waterfall console. Cortland NYs Royal Nissans sales team were wonderful!

Great Car. 255 HP and only $27,000, Amazing. The car gets looks, cause of its great 17 inch rims, and its wonderful headlights. The interior is professional and the Sound system is amazing. I Played the Lion Kings Circle of life in there and Whoa, I felt so moved. Got Great pep. And The TCF system, Perfect for stupid drivers, it honestly fixes every stupid move you make.

  • Feel the force - 2003 Nissan Maxima

As you enter the Maxima the true pleasure of power exudes from the very enviroment of the interior of the SE model. This feeling of power is reinforced the first time you push the gas pedal. Irritaed by the guy in front of you?? Give the gas pedal a twitch and look behind you for his expression. The Maxima is to the driving experience that sugar is to a child. GIVE ME MORE!!!!!

Have a 2000 GLE that I drive to airport and back. 3 years old now and just turned 10K miles, totally pampered. Still smells and runs like new. Havent had one problem since I bought, only in for oil change / tire rotation. The way Im putting miles on this baby Ill probably be getting classic car plates for it. Great car for the $$
