Amazing!!! - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By Tri Guy - July 7 - 10:00 amSo far, so good. Second Maxima (96 is the other). Had it a week and it is amazing to drive. The cornering is tight and responsive. The interior is quiet and roomy. Lots of trunk space. Amazing amount of pick up when the accelorator is pushed and I havent even opened it up yet. The gas mileage isnt even close to what I was told I would get, but I also have been playing with the gas pedal so far, so once I get into the groove of the car, I would imagine (hope) it will go up. I recently put an aftermarket air filter on it and the torque has imporved as well.

Maxed Out - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By Lisa Brooks - June 27 - 10:14 amI brought my 2004 Nissan Maxima SL at Motor City Auto Brokers in Waukegan, IL. When I first got the car I was in love with it. The gps, the put in radio with auxiliary, the pretty neon blue headlights, but after a few months my car started acting crazy. The steering wheel shakes, the brakes went bad, power steering is messed up, tires was messed up, parts of the car was broken. It was just maxed out. If you buy this car please get it checked out throughly before taking it off the lot. Keep up the maintenance. We had to take it to the shop and found out my car had many problems yet it drove like nothing was wrong. Not even a light came on. I would not even buy another car from Motor City Auto Brokers. Anyhow Im just sad that my car is maxed out lol I am planning on upgrading to the 2010 maxima. Lord willing.

Awesome car - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By Corvette098 - June 23 - 10:00 amI have driven the car less than a week, but so far it is really awesome. The power is amazing, the transmission is smooth, especially in manual mode. The Bose system kicks ass. I have the DPP and the power steering wheel is a good thing to have. My only complaint is that no one knows anything about the satellite radio. The dealer says that all you need to do is activate it, but I think the receiver and antenna has to be installed first. I think the people selling you the car should know about this, otherwise getting the car was a painless experience.

Think Twice - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By sonja killip - June 17 - 12:46 amI have had 4 Maximas and when I saw the 04 I had to have it and I bought this car the first week it came out. Since then I have had nothing but trouble. Ive had a new computer, 6 new injectors and now this week the dealership stated I need a new cat. converter. The tires have been replaced 2xs due to wearing out at 40,000 miles. This car has been in the shop more than any car I have ever owned. The front grill has also been replace due to peeling paint.The list goes on and on. I dont know if I will ever buy another Nissan.

By Mr Texas 2015 - June 14 - 7:34 pmIt will definitely gain attention on the road by the exterior design but that is about all this car can do for you. Very low mileage purchase in January of 2011. The first thing I noticed about a week later was the famous shimmy. Im doing 45-50 and the steering wheel starts shaking like a hula dancer. So of course I went back to the dealership they re balanced the tires. A week later it came back so I purchased 4 brand new Goodyear tires didnt solve it shimmy remained up until the end. March of 2011 had to have motor mounts replaced under warranty. September 2011 the timing chain was replaced under warranty thru Nissan. January 2012 the upper A/C hose was replaced for $600. July 2012 Power Steering leak was replaced. December 2012 both H.I.D headlights went out on the highway due to a bad ballast. March 2013 both CV Joints had to be replaced due to leakage. August 2013 The vehicle began to experience a hard start then that same day left me stranded at wal mart it was the Cam/crank sensors. January 2014 The Valve cover gaskets leaked oil. Fixed properly leaked again for a second time. June 2014 check engine light comes on P0420: Catalyst Efficiency Failure which means that catalytic converter was bad didnt replace. October 2014 Alternator fails. By December 2014 another check engine light this time the transmission needed to be replaced for a second time as had been by the previous owner. January 2015 traded for a 2009 Infiniti M. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR YOU ALONG WITH MY BROTHER,MYSELF,A MILLION OTHERS WILL REGRET IT.

My first bad auto purchase - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By jimjam56 - May 12 - 10:00 amOil leak right out of the showroom! Nissan mechanics cant figure out where its coming from. Ive had this vehicle less than 24 hours. Nissan "official position"....we will not replace, but we will repair under warranty any defects......whether Ive owned the car for 3 hours or 3 years. They will not replace the vehicle. Can you imagine buying a brand new, top of the line car (a lemon) and Nissan wants to "fix it" as opposed to replacing it?

Wow!! What a car!! - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By Madtown76 - May 6 - 10:00 amUnlike most reviewers, I was looking for a Mid-Sized Sedan to replace our aging 2000 Hyundai Sonata. We looked at the Toyotas and Hondas, but nothing touched the Nissan when it came to price vs. performance. We purchased the car at $3,000 below MSRP with 3.5% 60 mos financing, so the price was definitely right!! This car rides super smooth and has plenty of giddy-up when needed. I couldnt be any happier!!
