This Year's Model Updates:

The Maxima has been fully redesigned for 2004. It now rides on the same underpinnings as the well-received Nissan Altima. This year's Maxima is longer, wider and more powerful than the previous version.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.
Cons:
  • Some small, oddly arranged controls.

This is my third Maxima and it is the best. I love the pick up it has on the road and the new styling is superb. I receice a lot of comments from strangers about what a good looking car I own and it makes be proud. The best part about Maximas is there reliability.

pretty, good road handling.have had my car back as many months as had it.bad vibration in steering wheel.brakes grab.alignment problems.seat belts replaced, sunroof stuck open, not starting, tires cupping out, sunvisor problems, noise in front dash, air conditioner vent coming loose,3 sets of tires, realignment 3 times, continue to have vibrationing, shking steering wheel, grabbing brakes.my car is a very stressful car.bought car for safety and problem free car.would not recommend because nissan did not back car up like i feel they should.had to turn car into better business bureau.these are a few of the problems i have had with my car.

Let me begin by saying you want fuel economy then buy a Honda Civic. Other than that this is the best car I ever owned! The styling, the comfort, quiet, ride, handling, performance, everything is tops. What car could top this?? Yes a BMW ... but for twice the price! I would recommend this car to anyone any day as the perfect car.

  • My Second Maxima - 2004 Nissan Maxima

This is my second maxima, I owed a 91 SE, and I can asure you this new maxima is the one. It has power on demand for a V6 and it comes on smooth, strong and fast. It has a nice responsive feel from the steering and considering that it rides on 18"inch low profile tires (245/45VR18)the ride is pretty dam good. Nissan did their home work on this car A+++.

  • Horrible Car - 2004 Nissan Maxima

I cant believe after owning this car for two yrs i have so much problems. It first started with the engine mount having to be changed, then came the jerk when going from reverse to drive, then the a/c stopped working had to change the expansion valve. Whats gonna happen next...I wld not recommend anyone to buy a 2004 Maxima, alot of my friends with the same car have had similar problems. My next car will def not be a Nissan!

Driving the 2004 Maxima SE with journey package is a true joy. With the features of a Cadilac, the acceleration of a BMW and the options rivaling the A6 this new Maxima is simply a joy. It turns heads too! With quality fit and finish Nissan hit a homerun with the new design.
