Overview & Reviews
The Maxima has been fully redesigned for 2004. It now rides on the same underpinnings as the well-received Nissan Altima. This year's Maxima is longer, wider and more powerful than the previous version.
- Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.
- Some small, oddly arranged controls.

Very impressed - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By Chambliss - October 19 - 2:00 amThis car has been a surprise. Neck snapping torque, loads of space, plenty of amenities (though not always intuitive)and four doors make for a very fun ride indeed.

Love my new Max - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By MaxFan - October 14 - 10:00 amJust got a SE a few days ago (my 2nd Max after the 97GLE). Been loving every minutes. Been waiting 2-3 years for it to come out. But was a bit put off by the look in the pics (ugly grill and too big). Well, its so much better in person. Only a few other expensive cars can make me wishing to trade the looks. This Max is above the rest in the look department. If you dont like the grill, get an aftermarket one @stillen.com, it will inprove the look a lot more. I sold the old Max @100Kmiles and everything was still solid and smooth for another 100Kmiles.

A GREAT Sports Sedan - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By Regg - October 8 - 10:00 amThis is my 1st time buying a car and I am VERY impressed with the Maxima. I compared this car to the Acura TL, G35, IS 300, Saab 9-3 Aero, and the Maxima won! This car has every option to keep you comfortable while driving, and performace/handling to make anyone looking at sports sedans very satisified. I chose the Maxima b/c it has the performance of the BMW, the reliablilty of the Acura, the uniqueness of the Saab, and the luxury of a Lexus. This car is just as good any other entry level sports sedan but cost less then $30k.

Max Worth A Million - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By MaxaMillion - September 30 - 10:00 amI had a hard time deciding between the 04 Maxima and the new Saab 9-3. I made the right decision after many test drives in both. The 04 Maxima handles better than a Volvo S80 with a ton of power. Its the best combination of a luxury sports sedan on the market. I was stopped at the supermaket my second day of ownership and was asked what it was and where to get one. It definately turns heads. The sound system is incredible with an ubeleivably quiet ride with subtle and responsive handling. If you test drive one you will buy it!

Beware of problems - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By stevek - September 24 - 10:00 amPicked this car up as a dealer locate, the selling dealer would not order me one. Unfortunately sometime before me it sustained damage to the right front axle boot which ruined the axle. 30 days and still wating for parts, Nissan says I will just have to wait, they dont even call me. Also some vibration in shifter in 1st, they say its normal. My 00 was a great car, so far this one falls far short. Cant bekieve how poor customer service is, maybe its the French connection.

Smooooth... - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By Tony253 - September 24 - 10:00 amThis car does everything smooth...Acceleration, braking, steering and appearance. The Maxima has attitude under the hood clear back to the twin dual pipes. A similarly equipped Audi A4 would be about $5K more without the "cool" factor. Ive never owned a car that gets stared at so often.

Nissan Maxima - Best car ever - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By tinacomstock - September 13 - 2:00 amIve had several high end vehicles in the past, several Mercedes models, BMW, Pantera, Datsun, Cougar, GTO Pontiac, Jeep Cherokee, Camaro, Mitsubishi, Toyota, but never had one that combines it all..... I am happy with Nissan because it lets me have fun and allows me to go to a formal function in it too. Great stabillity, great maneuverability, great acceleration and nice/comfortable roomy interior. Cant ask for more... yes, before purchasing; I tried the new cadillac CTX, BMW, Jaguar, Benz, Volvo and fell in love with Nissan. Im glad the dealer let me take it home to think about buying it. He is confident, I will not give it back to him.
