This Year's Model Updates:

The Maxima has been fully redesigned for 2004. It now rides on the same underpinnings as the well-received Nissan Altima. This year's Maxima is longer, wider and more powerful than the previous version.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.
Cons:
  • Some small, oddly arranged controls.

Everytime i thought that they cant built it better nissan came back and surprised me. There is some much there to like about this car from the skyview roof, to the interior design that is in a class of its own. I was kinda shaky about the exterior design, but it is growing on me now, and everytime i look at the car it just looks good. Given the choice between a Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and a VW Passat i will buy the maxima in a heart beat, coz after test driving them all, this is the most fun car out of them all.

This is one of the most beautiful cars ever put out by Nissan. The car handles and performs like a dream.

Overall a good vehicle. The "skyview" roof is silly and there was no option to not have it unless you want to pay $900 extra for a regular sunroof. Very roomy inside and in the trunk. I get lots of dreamy stares.

Im still so excited! Finally found a BLACK MAX! Owned a white one back in the day, but was originally looking for a black one back then too! But now that I found the one that I want this time...have to say it STILL has me in awe! Ive ALWAYS been a loyal fan of the MAX since the old "box" body-style days. Between the wife and I, this will be our fifth NISSAN, so its safe to say that were a bit biased toward them. Im already accessorizing!!! Turns heads and gets a lot of attention from the public. All I have to say is go and test drive one if youve been thinking of buying one--THE CAR REALLY SELLS ITSELF-- itll make you a believer!

I love my maxima, but as previously stated, it makes so much noise while youre driving it. It feels like youre riding it offroad and it makes the driver and passenger shake. My front struts also went bad a 7k miles. other then that, I love it. I dont know if Id buy another maxima in the future.

This is my second Maxima I had a 1989 that went for 289,000 miles with no drive line failures was driven hard right to the end. I traded a 2002 Niss, Altima 3.5 SE for the 2004 and all I can say is this car is incredible cannot stop driving it......Nissan let me do a comerical for you for free .......what a car and what a company........My wife and I drive it all the time it is just a awesome car and kicks butt on alot of so called american muscle cars... The power band just keeps going and begging for more..The only two faults the front grill and the power adapter pain to get to....10 out of 10 best buy

This is the 4th Nissan I have owned and you can bet it WILL BE MY LAST! I bought it because I thought it would be fun and sporty, while still luxurious and comfortable. However, none of that is any good if youre too worried about breaking down to drive it! I have put 30k miles on this car and have had nothing but problems with it the entire time. In 2yrs, its been in the shop for the Clutch (twice!), Transmission, Struts, power windows, gas tank, front axle, engine mount, and the stereo. I was just informed that the Bose stereo unit on this car has failed and Nissan refuses to fix it. Only 2 yrs old and the radio fails? Not only that, to replace it will cost me just under $1000. Disappointed!

Well balanced car. If you want a smoother ride get the SL. Performance is second to none. Look out GT Mustang. It is a classy and sporty car. I researched quite abit before buying one.

I own the 04 SE w/ the Elite Package. The car handles well, but the front tires break loose fairly easy. The car shifts hard from first thru second. Overall I am impressed. ,
