This Year's Model Updates:

Improved manual transmission shift feel (thanks to a shorter shift stroke), black-tone brake calipers, additional chrome accents inside and new softer leather upholstery. Auto-dimming outside mirrors are now available, and a new 12-volt power point resides at the base of the center stack.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.
Cons:
  • So-so center stack ergonomics, premium price without the premium nameplate.

  • Beautiful and fun to drive gas suspect ! - 2005 Nissan Maxima

The Maxima is one of the best 4 doors sedans ever. This is my second (97 Max) old. I love the new 2005 got a great deal fully loaded for 28k, missing navi. The car is very fast, has a great snarl with a touch of the pedal. I expected at least 20 miles per gallon but so far only giving me 18.8 on the avg. I just got it so im expecting it to improve just working in the engine. other than that i have been very happy with the car, so slick with the blk on blk, the leather feels like pleather but its all good. BUY IT if you looking for under 30K too many options to list. Its a Flagship so they put everything they got into it so you know its fine tuned.

  • I love my Maxima!!! - 2005 Nissan Maxima

This is my 3rd Nissan Maxima. We had a 92, 97, and now 2005. Weve loved all of them, but this one is by far the best. I especially love the sky-view roof. I have been given compliments on this car wherever I go - at stop lights, car washes, drive-thru restaurants - there are compliments. We put the Nissan chrome wheels on the car this month, and it really spruces it up. A great car - Id recommend it highly.

  • Nissan sucks - 2005 Nissan Maxima

Spoke to Nissan and they wont give me the time of day to help replace my transmission. Its been replaced once already and they wont listen. Besides the transmission, the lumbar system which was recalled is broken again, the fog lights have been replaced at least 6 times. Nissan has the worst customer service at their HQ. I wouldnt buy another Nissan. They dont care about their customers, so why should I patronize them by purchasing another vehicle from them. They really suck.

great acceleration, sweet 6cyl comfortable roomy enough great milage styling looks like a roach but not bad second maxima had 2002 had 2 recals on it.but thrilling to drive.265 hp engine I think better built that a honda, with a 6, acura is more , and i think hondas quality has gone down in recent years.

Overall nice car. I had it for 6 months. Transmission is lazy in traffic. Dont step on it or your on board computer will show your MPG going as far down as 12MPG through out an average of normal and traffic driving. Most confortable ride ever. Make sure to opt for the driver preffered package. I didnt and I am sorry now. Stereo is great. Heated seats take a litle too long to warm up. Neat features that let you open the front windows from the remote (why not all 4, I cant understand...). Plenty of space for 5, comfortable with 4 on board. Overall, I believe it is a great car for the money. I cant wait to see what the 2008 will have to bring to the table...Its worth it and ready to move up

  • Wonderful Car - 2005 Nissan Maxima

Bought new in Jan. 2005, now have 80,000 and have had no problems whatsoever! Power is great, gas mileage is consistent at 22.5 in town and 29.0 on the freeway using 89 octane. Ive only had to do the regular maintenance, replaced tires and brakes at 68,000 with no surprises. Ride is on the firm side but thats why it handles so great.

Poor cup holder arrangement. Too much torque steer when accelerating, Visibility toward rear corners poor.

  • Maxima SE Fully Loaded - 2005 Nissan Maxima

This is the best performance sedan to buy. The 5-speed auto is great and the 6-speed is awesome. The engine growl sounds sweet during its breath-taking accelerations. It has plenty of features not known to this class. For example, a heated steering wheel. This car is great!

This is my second maxima since 1996. The reliability, style, and performance make this vehicle a must have. There is just no comparison to the other cars in this class. When you rate all of the features as well as price this car is the definite choice.
