This Year's Model Updates:

Improved manual transmission shift feel (thanks to a shorter shift stroke), black-tone brake calipers, additional chrome accents inside and new softer leather upholstery. Auto-dimming outside mirrors are now available, and a new 12-volt power point resides at the base of the center stack.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.
Cons:
  • So-so center stack ergonomics, premium price without the premium nameplate.

I purchased my pathfinder le almost 2 years ago with 12,000 miles.. The car now has 35,000.. I have never had any problem with this car, it handles the snow amazingly since I live in Chicago. Much better car than 4runner or envoy. It has great look and performance and I am 100% satesfied with my purchase and I would buy it again.

Why spend 90,000 for a BMW with navigation package, XM sattelite radio, 6 CD changer, heated steering wheel and seats? Maxima has all that. .

Everything was great til 50k miles. Im at 62k now and within the past year I had the transmission replaced twice (common jerking problem between 1st and 2nd gear), the AC works whenever it feels like it, window defroster takes forever to defrost, Cd changer keeps skipping, the telescopic steering wheel is wobbling. Recently my ABS started to come on everytime I press the brakes, and the ABS pump stays on constantly. From the reviews Ive read it looks like another $2000 job to fix... oh, and did I mention I need new motormounts? Yeah, I was told that happens when they replace your transmission... All these issues and no recalls, only service bulletins...

Purchase in 2006, with 32,000+ miles. Loved the ride!! Once I reached 60,000 miles I started having problems with my transmission. Come to find out this is a problem with the Maxima for years and its going to cost me $3500.00+ to repair. In addition, my CD player stopped working a year ago and the locks dont always open with the remote.

  • Combination of Sporty and Luxury - 2005 Nissan Maxima

I purchased the Maxima a month ago, after owining a Dodge Intrepid ES. Althought the Max is a smaller car, it still has adequate interior room and trunk space. I think it is almost the perfect combnation of sportiness and luxury, and compares favorably with cars costing much more.

I have a 2005 Red SE Max w/ Driver Preferred Package. At the push of a button my steering wheel and leather seat heats up. I added a remote starter so the leather seats are heated when I enter the car. It has been fun getting into the car this winter. I had no problems pulling out of the snow. I just turn on the radio and cruise. My daughter loves the RDS. It shows the name of the artist and the song the radio station is playing. Eight way power seats with memory allows me to preset seat position. The seats and steering wheel actually automatically adjust to let me out when I turn the car off. Once I open the door to get in the steering wheel and seat adjust to let me back in. Extraorinary!

  • the best sedan going - 2005 Nissan Maxima

The Maxima is a very roomy sedan...lots of room front seat and back, and the trunk cant be beat as far as storage space. The performance side of the sedan is unparalleled among 4 doors when its time time put the hammer down, and the tiptronic tranny shifts just as well as the automatic version. The vehicle is a joy to drive, and I have been very impressed by the power and refinment. Highly recommended!

  • Good buy! - 2005 Nissan Maxima

Bought it when it was 34K miles. Now its 67K miles, no issues whatsoever! Pricey tires though, had to replace every year (but looks great). Some minor rattle coming from the center console. 20 mpg not sure whether its good or bad but somewhat high compared to my old 4 cyl Camry that was sold to get this one. Will buy M35 next after this one gets to be 100K.

Definitely fun to drive. Its the sedan of all sedans. I also owned a 99 limited edition, found it to be a bit small. Very pleased with the larger body, 18 inch wheels and dual exhaust.
