This Year's Model Updates:

Improved manual transmission shift feel (thanks to a shorter shift stroke), black-tone brake calipers, additional chrome accents inside and new softer leather upholstery. Auto-dimming outside mirrors are now available, and a new 12-volt power point resides at the base of the center stack.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.
Cons:
  • So-so center stack ergonomics, premium price without the premium nameplate.

  • Smooth, Muscular, Stylish Power - 2005 Nissan Maxima

This car is an amazing value. Luxury features, powerful 265hp V6, smooth automatic transmission (which you can shift yourself if you like), a unique muscular look, huge 18" performance tires and wheels (I could go on and on about how cool this car is!) Compare it with a Toyota Avalon and see that you get more for a lot less money.

  • This Car is over rated - 2005 Nissan Maxima

Ive never had a worst experience with a car than what I had with my new Maxima. The back panel came loose and the driver side door pillow also came lose. The car has a lot of cabin noise, and after only 12,000 miles the lumbar broke. Not to mention theres noise in the front end of the car. I would much rather buy a hyndai than purchase another nissan. After 9 months I decided to sell my nissan an purchase a used lexus. I have to say the service at lexus is 100 times better than the service at nissan. Stay away.

  • Uncomfortable seats - 2005 Nissan Maxima

Has anyone else had a problem with the seats. I love the car except the seat is so hard after 1/2 hour I am in excruciating pain and cant drive it at all. Ive never had this experience before with a car. I test drove it but had no problem on the limited test drive that I took at two different dealerships. Back pillows havent helped and the car is leased. Any suggestions to remedy problem would be appeciated - also just curious to know if I am alone in experiencing this problem.

  • Nissan Keeps Getting Better - Maxima - 2005 Nissan Maxima

In considering many different vehicles for this purchase I couldnt neglect the reliability of my past Nissans. The 2005 axima did not take long to be moved to the top of the list with its unique, noncomformist styling and the performance it offered. Togehter with the reliability that I have found with Nissan products, this car was not a dissappointment. It has been everything one would expect in a sedan of this quality that is targeted for those looking for more than a family sedan. Its performance and handling are excellent.

  • Blown away and love it. - 2005 Nissan Maxima

First time buying a car of this size. Compared, Camry, Accord and was almost set for buying the accord. Walked into the NISSAN Dealership and was completely blown away by the MAXIMA. The trunk space beats both the others cars hands down. I actually took two big suitcases (airline-internationl travel), and they both fit with lots of room for small bags. Tall people actually have thigh support in the back seat. The cars fun to drive (read blast). Controls are good. Like the windows down feature from the key.. handy on hot days. I am just very glad that i bought this car. Wish i can keep the new car smell forever now.

Great Style, lots of power. Rides like a full size Caddy, Dependable most importantly. Proven Nissan 3.5 V6 Engine. Great Paint. Oil, Gas, Brakes for first 200,000 miles You Go figure! Nothing Aftermarket needed to improve looks. Looks great right from the showroom floor.

This Maxima in black looks awesome. Great power and handling. A lot of car for the money. Mileage is also pretty decent.

The car is a reliable means of transportation with good looks, low maintenance and few repairs outside of normal maintenance. I drive the car for 5 years and hand it down to my wife (4000 miles per year) for the next 5 years.
