This Year's Model Updates:

A 20th Anniversary edition includes the 227-horsepower version of the standard 3.0-liter V6 from the Infiniti I30, as well as goodies like bronze-lensed headlight covers, a body kit, ersatz carbon-fiber interior trim, drilled metal pedals and a number of features normally optional on the SE. This special model also gets an exclusive color: Majestic Blue. A new Meridian package is optional on all Maximas, bundling side-impact airbags and a low washer fluid indicator with heated front seats and side mirrors, as well as special trunk lid trim. Adding optional traction control to the SE or GLE results in a Z Edition Maxima, for some zany reason.

Pros:
  • Silky and powerful V6 engine, sports car moves, room for the whole family.
Cons:
  • Odd styling details, high price, rough ride quality with SE suspension.

I enjoy my car completely and would reccomend them to anyone looking at a new or used car. This is my 2nd Nissan vehicle and have never been stuck by the side of the road with anything worse than a flat tire.

My fifth Maxima and my next car will be a Maxima. Maximas run great for at least 250,000 miles with normal service. A real value when compared to more expensive cars

This is the best car Ive ever owned. Beautifully designed inside, extremely comfortable, and a blast to drive. Zero problems after 40,000 miles. Only wish it had a little better fuel economy but not bad -- generally 26-28 mpg highway and 22-23 around town. After 3 years it still looks and drives great.

Have had this since new and am completely satisfied! Engine is smooth as silk and has had zero problems in almost 100K miles. Body styling is becoming classic. Smooth ride tight steering great road grip. Only gripe, and thats minor, is the limited turning radius.

  • The "ultimate highway cruiser." - 2001 Nissan Maxima

I drive 150 miles (round trip) to work everyday in my 2001 Nissan Maxima (20th Anniversary Edition). This car is the ultimate highway cruiser. Most of my miles are high speed and the Nissan responds with great performance and handling through all types of weather. I strongly recommend this vehicle to anyone who must travel long distances .... it is fun to drive!

During the 8 years I have owned since new, I have put new brakes once, new tires twice, one new radiator at 150000 miles and now the struts need replacing. If this were a ford focus or whatever it would now be around in this good a condition. Also my actual miles per gallon is city 21 highway 27

  • Love My Maxima - 2001 Nissan Maxima

Bought my 2001 Nissan Maxima in Dec 2003 and it has been a great car! Love the way it handles. Its roomy and very comfortable. It now has 194k miles and still going strong. Only regular maintenance done over the 10 years Ive owned the car. When I sell this one, I hope to get another Maxima.

  • 20th Anniversary Edition Maxima - 2001 Nissan Maxima

This is my 4th Maxima and I absolutely love this car. Ive had it 4 and a half years now. The car rides smooth and quiet. It has a strong 227 Hp engine, the same one found in the 2001 Infinity I30. 4900 miles on it and still performs like new. No problems to report. All Ive done to this car is replaced the tires when needed. The reliability of this car is excellent. This is exactly why I buy Maximas and nothing else, its the best car for the money. Im about to buy a 2006 Maxima. Ive received many great offers on my car to sell.

  • A ton of fun and bang for the $ - 2001 Nissan Maxima

My wife and I bought a lease turn in for $17k w/21k miles on it. We could be more pleased and laugh at our friends that by new Accords, J30/35, Camarys and whatevers. Its almost too much fun to drive. Hard to keep under 80mph on the Interstate.

  • best car easily destroys the accord - 2001 Nissan Maxima
    By -

this car is the sickest car ive ever driven it plus i added a cold air intake which really makes the car pull off the line as if it needed more power steering and cornering is excellent driving a 2000 accord ex v6 gold (hayat) and i have to say the maxima outperforms it.
