  • Man I love these cars! - 1999 Nissan Maxima
    By -

I have always loved the Maxima. Ever since I was 16 and got my first 85. This car is great at handling, quick accleration, instant throttle response, great braking system, transmission shifts seamlessly. Plenty of leg in the back. Four doors makes it family but the rest of the car makes is sporty and a blast to drive. I love this thing and I jump out of bed so I can drive it to work and hate when I pull in at home cause I have to turn it off. I just love this thing and I dont know what more I can say.

  • Best car Ive owned - 1999 Nissan Maxima

I bought this car in 2000 with 14000 miles on it. The guys at the dealership put 3000 miles on it before I bought it. When I saw it had a 5 speed 6 cylinder engine, I bought it right away. Now with 130000+ miles on it it still runs good as new, with no major problems to report. The only problem I have ever had was a sensor that needed to be replaced & routine maintenance. I just bought an SUV and I didnt have the heart to trade the Maxima in. Hopefully Ill get another 100000 miles out of it!

  • Maxima SE 5-spd - 1999 Nissan Maxima
    By -

Bought my SE 5 spd for a steal. $13,500 and it looks brand new. BOSE system is great. Big, easy-to-use knobs/buttons. My 1993 SE (209,000 miles w/ original clutch!) had the BOSE but its faceplate was half the size. Auto climate makes you wonder what you ever did w/o it. Leather is in great shape and two power seats is what you usually see only on high-end luxo cars. I wish Nissan had opted for a built-in antenna. The power antennaes always seem to develop a problem. I agree with the previous post...the SE is a BMW 5-series for a lot less money. Ill check back in when my 1999 duplicates my 1993 and crosses the 200k mile mark!

  • Get one, quick! - 1999 Nissan Maxima

Heres a decent car. All youve read about this car is true. You get styling, performance, great gas mileage, reliability, and good resale all in one 4-door package. Ive owned a V-6 Camry and I think this car is slightly better. Plenty of head room for me (63") even with a sunroof. Go for the SE, as you get firmer suspension, better looks and a 5-speed option. If you can find a 99 SE-L, youll get spiffy options like a 5th lap belt, 120 extra watts of Bose (like it needed it...), and neato titanium-colored badges as well as cheesy "SE-L" emblems tacked onto various parts of the car. Keep it in good shape, sell it in a few years, and you should get most of your money out of it.

  • my first purchased car ! - 1999 Nissan Maxima
    By -

I bought this 99 Nissan maxima when I was 21 the car looks great ran great as others I have had coil problems but after fixing them It was good. used only synthetic oil ! only used 76 gas . 87 unleaded of course. I have changed the oil seals myself. the car still runs great. reseale value totally blows I rather keep it. the purchase value was outrageous. I dont know what I was thinking.. if you drive it fast you burn the gas as fast. being it is a v6 ! I love my maxima I also have a 2007 Honda accord. cant compare them.. the maxima has great speed and the better engine. I think. the accord handles a lot better great on gas. but I will always love my maxima ! being that I am from California and the roads out here are bumpy I love my v6 to out run the smaller 4 sissy cylinder cars out here.

This is my third Maxima and they only seem to get better every time. I cant wait to see what the next body-style has to offer.

  • Good Car - 1999 Nissan Maxima

I bought this car in Sept of 2003 with 42,000 miles on it.I put 6,000 on it so far. I had to replace the belts on it, but other then that car is great.I think in 1999 it was too overpriced. I got it for 13,500.the V6 is smooth but kinda sluggish at times. When accelerating from a traffic light it stay at 1800 rpm for like 3 seconds? But all in all im happy with it.When time comes ill trade it for a 2000 and up Maxima SE or Altima SE V6. Anything NISSAN! I hope they put an 8 cylinder in a Maxima. Now that would be kewl!

  • Why get something more expensive - 1999 Nissan Maxima
    By -

I have driven a Nissan Altima and a Nissan Maxima which I still own. These 2 cars have proven to be very reliable while they offered a lot more options for the money (more value). I dont understand people who buy a Honda Accord instead of a Maxima. They probably dont do their homework before buying. For me and my family it is Nissan...nothing else. And to prove my point, my son just purchased his first car...a brand new Nissan Sentra EX R which he chose above such competitors such as Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Hyundai Tiburon.

  • Will always buy a Nissan - 1999 Nissan Maxima
    By -

I traded a my 2001 Toyota Tacoma for the 1999 Nissan Maxima. This vehicle impressed me the minute I started the engine. It handles great and has great power. I travel 54 miles one way to work in Washington DC and this Maxima makes me forget about the rush hour traffic. I will drive this car until it dies, then I will buy a newer model.
