This Year's Model Updates:

Since the Maxima was updated last year and is scheduled for a redesign in 2004, there are no major changes in store for the family sedan in 2003. There's a Titanium Edition package available for the SE and side airbags are now standard on GLEs.

Pros:
  • Impressively powerful V6 engine, sports car moves, availability of premium features, plenty of room for five adults.
Cons:
  • High price, rough ride quality with SE suspension.

I really like this car. It has plenty of power, a roomy, comfortable interior, handles reasonably well, and does well in the snow. I bought this car used in 2006 with ~60k miles. It now has 95k. In that time, besides routine maintenance, Ive only had to replace the interior fan assembly which started making an annoying noise shortly after I bought it. It cost approximately $400 to replace. My friend has an Xterra which had a similar problem. The previous owner had taken out the stereo system so I got whatever the dealer put in. Im not an audiophile, but would say its got an adequate sound system. My wifes 2006 Toyota 4- runner has a better sounding system.

I have had my maxima for 2 years now and it is one of the best cars I have ever driven. Fast, fun to drive, good handling good mechanics. Very reliable and with my silver color and wax it blinds the other drivers. Put tinted windows on it and it looks AMAZING. Seats are uncomfortable for my parents on long drives and the back seat head room is a little low. Wish Nissan put in bose standard but the sound system is good nonetheless.

A cars a car right? Not this time around. Ive always resected my cars and treated them well; typically getting 150k miles before trading them in. Ive had this car for three years and I LOVE it! It is the best car out there and I did not think that Id ever get hooked on a hunk of steel. Lots of power, great mileage (I got 30 mpgs the other day driving from Dallas to Austin), tons of interior space and a huge trunk. I had a freind who owns a Benz with me on the ride and he was blown away with how nice MY car was! And when we filled up for gas and I told him 30 mpg, he was shocked! Great car. Great, great car!

I recently purchased the GLE a few days ago. I test drove the BMW 325xi, the Volvo S60 2.5T AWD, and the Audi A4. I was actually on my way to the BMW dealership to buy the 325 (true story!) and for some reason or another i stopped in at the nissan dealership to check out the 04 maxima. I drove the 2004 and the 2003. Once I drove the 2003 I was sold. I bought the car right there on the spot. It drives much more smoothly than the other cars, plus youll get much more bang for you buck with the fully loaded GLE. Consumer Reports rates it very high and so do I. A highly recommended car.

SO FAR SO GOOD, NO PROBLEMS, I CAN FEEL THE BRAKES GRINDING DURING STOPPING, ROTORS SHOW RUST WHEN IT RAINS OR GETS WET, THEY SEEM TO BE OF LESSER QUALITY, LIKE MY PREVIUOS MAXIMA. LITTLE STRONG ON THE TORQUE STEER,OTHER THAN THAT THE PERFORMANCE IS OUTSTANDING
